In the church I worshipped with in the past, I observed that during the intercessory prayers, people don’t just mumble words while many just sit and form distracted.
It didn’t make sense.
As a matter of fact, it was the women that even prayed the most.
I also observed a trend and it was like this: when people weren’t praying, the minister leading the prayer begins to cajole people to pray with words like...
“It’s only the living that can praise God”
“What if you had died from accident?”
“I know of a man/woman...
“...who trailer crushed and died on the spot and I shouted Baba... have mercy on me”.
It works! All the time 🤣.
Why did it work? Because it put the fear of dying in your mind.
Why does it bother you? Because you think if you die in your sin, na hell.
It is why folks don’t have a conquerors mindset.
Never.
When people are cajoled to pray, it is a reflection of two things:
1. They don’t have a lifestyle of prayer nor have a relationship with God.
2. They don’t understand the grace of God.
During a Sunday school, we were speaking about prayer and I raised the issue as I explained people don’t need to be cajoled with death and near death experiences to pray.
One of the deacons was listening and she waited until the intercessory prayers and called my name.
She raised my comment and openly condemned it stating some justification that lacks scriptural backing filled with emotionalism.
I just laughed. It wasn’t new and since i joined the church, she was the one who had an issue with me.
It happens. There’s always that one person.
That one person who can’t give results but will criticize all the results you get.
The Holy Spirit told me of such and how to handle them - With love.
One day, she called me after church and started telling me of a family issue regarding her brother.
Apparently, her brother attends a uniform wearing church and during one of the deliverance sessions using a strange approach, he became afflicted and was drying up slowly.
Everyone had come in for a family fasting and prayer and by day 6 nothing and everyone panicked.
I told her to give me his phone number and tell him someone would call him by 8:00PM that evening.
I called and I asked him some basic questions and then the Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart a question relating to his salvation.
He wasn’t saved.
How then did you come into such a position?
He didn’t say but I already knew. I led him to Christ and we prayed, he refused to speak in tongues so I just rebuked the hold of the devil over him.
I instructed him to get water, I prayed on it and he drank.
One hour later...
...he calls.
“I had the urge to urinate and from there I needed to poo and greenish substance came out of me. The smell was putrid”
“Hallelujah”. I screamed. “The poison is out”.
You need the Holy Spirit to make a change and come into real power.
I’ll call when I’m ready.
It’s been 2 years and he hasn’t called.
The deaconess? She never stopped giving me issues in church but then again... we move; in love!
I have said many things but one thing stands... the Believer is a conqueror because of the victory of Jesus at the Cross.
Until we work with that Victor’s mindset, our reality will always be one of fear and compromise.
Remember, greater is He that is in you.
Friday is #GSWMI Night of Glory taking place at @TheikosDoxa on Friday by 11:00PM.
In these few years of ministry, I have come across quite a number of people with different desires whenever we talk.
There are those who are seeking to be blessed and like I’ve seen, once they are blessed, excuses to serve God starts popping up.
It sad to see.
However, the people I have always enjoyed praying with are those who simply want more - more of God, more of the Holy Spirit, more from their relationship with the Holy Spirit.
They don’t thirst for anything but God.
I call them God Chasers.
All they desire is God’s will.
This was how I met MB after church service after I watched her ministration during Sunday Service in my parish.
“People won’t know that such a tiny frame carries so much power” I teased.
She laughs.
“However, I want more. How do I get it?” She asks.
"Brother Nikolai, I would like to see you after the service for a brief discussion".
"No problem". Replies Brother Nikolai.
Service ends and we find a place to sit and talk.
"Brother, I want to know how you and your wife flow so easily in the Spirit?"
"...I see the ease at which both of you flow in tongues and I really want this so much. I have been a worship minister for years and even have three albums yet I cannot touch that realm you both touch.
When you and your wife give comments during midweek service..."
"...I keep wondering if this is the gospel I live because you both speak with so much love and show a reality I feel is only for GO. How can I become like you?"
Brother Nikolai responds "The question should be - how can you become like Christ. It is Him you must become".
“You know you’re a Pastor. Demons tremble at your presence and even witches are afraid of you. But for someone like me, I have to be careful so I am not afflicted because I’m not anointed”.
These were the words of a sister to me 3 months ago.
A spirit filled Sister.
Telling me that a woman looked at her and threatened to deal with her if she does not stop her midnight prayers.
“So since you stopped, has she given you peace?”
Yes o! We are even friendly towards each other.
🤣🤣🤣.
Chai! Friendship gba okwu dia.
Of what relationship does light have with darkness???
How?! How can light dim at the presence of darkness?!
Even the mad man saw Jesus and bowed and you’re telling me you’re friendly with a witch.
Believers.
I laughed at her until she was ashamed and then annoyed.
God had already opened the gates for us as there was a waterfall of His Presence today.
It was waves heaped upon waves of His goodness and love. I saw burdens lifted and I heard tongues that shattered the fabric of man’s false realities.
I didn’t want it to end. Now I understand why the Apostles would go from house to house breaking bread and being drunk in the Spirit.
After service we went visiting... this Pastor work no be mouth which is why I find those who say all Pastors care about is Tithe.
😒😒😒.
The hospital was at Akowonjo and it wasn’t far from my place. Immediately I was informed in church, I asked the Holy Spirit if my Brothers can stop by for a visit.
We had finished and catching kingdom trips when one of my Brothers said - Let’s go and know earthworker’s house.
So many tales of woe from those who have suffered terrible experiences from the hands of SARS and rather than the government to act, they have chosen to suppress what has been due for years.
People are being paid to scatter protests, “supposed” prisoners escaping...
Accounts of Nigerian citizens being blocked by the FG and many are still making excuses for the President’s silence.
Certain individuals with ideologies are sprouting and trying to smuggle another agenda to the #EndSARS.
It is well.
The other thing of note is that churches have chosen to engage in spiritual protests via prayer walks and great things are happening.
Spiritual fathers have stood up to address things in the place of prayer and though the enemy has raised its head, it shall be crushed!
