Completing the service year and getting back home wasn't so easy. I came from a home where neighbours are SEE FINISH. So it wasn't a matter of negotiation for me to know that I wasn't returning home to my parents after Ajuwaya
Not like I didn't try to. I did but got my fingers burnt. Young chaps in the streets were often referred to see me for their difficult home works. One young girl nearly rubbished my degree when she brought WORD PROBLEM mathematics assignment. It was really a problem.
The textbook publisher made a mistake in the options provided as answers. Meanwhile, I was sweating profusely not to destroy my family name as the girl was insisting that every answer I got were not correct. Oh my God, who send me to be a nice guy?
It was until her friend who came visiting that said that her lesson teacher said all the options were wrong that I became free. This girl later brought out quantitative reasoning questions, mo ya le danu.
Na Sociology I study not Assignment
As each day went by, I became a shadow of myself and couldn't find any like mind in the neighbourhood. It was only my father that gives me intellectual arguement and cushioning. NEPA didnt also help matters. They almost didn't supply power for 27 days in an entire month
My big uncle in Ketu, Lagos called and asked me to come to Lagos and within the twinkle of an eye, aja 5 gbera tan. I picked all pickables and ja pa. Lagos, here I come.
As expected of a new graduate, the zeal to search for job for very potent. I made over 50 copies of my CVs and distributed them across organisations in mainland and Island and in their usual rhetorics, they said WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU.
My job searching potency was weakened the day I saw my CV in the dustbin of an organisation. I bought chilled pure water, drank it and calmed down. Then I began to treck back home from Ikeja to Ketu.
I attended several interviews, wrote many tests and got complimentary cards to meet eminent personalities. But all ended in Yinka Ayefele first album title, Bitter Experience.
My neighbours in Lagos soon realised the potential in me and as such send their kids to me for assignments. I also help them to draft letters, agreement notes and a few desk works and these come with no reward. So I began to think of Wande Coal's song SE NA LIKE DS WE GO DEY DEY?
I stayed indoor most times when many people are off to work and set out to newspaper stand to read headlines and argue politics and sports until noon. This was usually supported with puffpuff and pure water. Then I'll proceed to bank to collect better AC and use their toilet
From there, I'll continue the job hunt till evening and head back home like someone coming from work. The evenings are always full of football matches or banters or my daily visitation of the Agboyi river, where I have Anthropological inspiration of a new world.
After deep search, I got a job with McJohnson Chambers as a Liaison Officer. But it ended in premium tears. The gist can't be exhausted.
I didn't stop believing. I was very hopeful, let's do this next week.

It was my batch of NYSC that was deployed to conduct voter's registration and the eventual elections of 2011. It didn't come so easily.
We were asked to converge at the Awka South local government office in Amawbia for briefing. I was to arrive earlier than others to set the public address system as soon as I got to the venue and was alighting from the motorcycle, my NYSC trouser tore disgracefully.

Staying in the NCCF family house was a product of garnished programmes and varieties as well as the interdenominational acceptance of Christians across the country.
Sebi you remembered that I said cooking almost landed me in trouble in the previous episode, it wasn't funny at all.

Despite having some issues with my documentation at the NYSC office which would mean that I wouldn't get my 9,775 for two months, I still felt like leaving the NCCF state house because of strict rules or else...
Won ti keran mero (they have parked incompartible entities together). I set out to look for an apartment because I had about 20k in my account plus my first allawee, transport and bicycle allowances given on camp. I was good to go.

I was posted to Awka south, the capital of Anambra state. The mood before dismantling OBS gadgets after the parade at the camp was very emotional. Several bonds were broken with hugs and kisses.
People were posted to pitiable places like Ayamelum, Awka North, Njikoka, Orumba North and South, and a few other places. Tears were rolling like water from fish pond.
