Yes, willpower probably is our ability to continue through to do/not-do an action irrespective of how comfortable we are doing so.

'Success feeds success' as they say. So taking on small acts and completing it on schedule increases our willpower a bit and not meeting them, we promised ourselves to do decreases it. So yes, in a way, it is like a muscle.

Think of willpower as a mobile-battery, it is full when you wake up. If you do as you thought, it recharges, if not, it discharges. By the end of the day, it's empty (hence ppl do more unwanted things in the night).
So planning what you want to do is as imp as doing it!
