1/Dear #Maine-here's where we are w/#COVID19 today. @MEPublicHealth is reporting a total of 6715 total cases today, with the *important* data-related note from earlier.
Of those, 5944 are confirmed and 771 are probable.
147 individuals have passed away and 5554 have recovered.
2/The hospitalization data in #Maine are concerning. Right now, 29 are in the hospital w/#COVID19.
7 of those are in the ICU and 1 is on a ventilator.
Two weeks ago, 9 people were in the hospital; none in the ICU and none on a ventilator.
3/28% of yesterday’s cases were from Cumberland County, 25% from York, and 15% from Somerset.
Thankfully, no new individuals have passed away w/COVID19.
More details to come.
2/But there is an important note about today's case #s.
A disruption on Saturday in the data delivery system that reports COVID-19 test results from labs to Maine CDC caused today’s website update to include fewer cases than would have been reported in the past 24 hours.
3/This means that today’s reported number of new cases reflects fewer than 24 hours of data, while Monday’s update will reflect more than 24 hours of data.
