Unadulterated narcissism is why they see everything globally from only their teeny US left/right lens. If Trump praised Islam, they would’ve filled the streets supporting free expression and Paty. And it’d be empty ‘support’. Devoid of actually values. Just more binary politics.
As a teacher, a supporter of free expression and a critic of Islam’s fascist attitude toward free expression, I took this hard. It felt personal. Paty was my ally. And though I’ve felt betrayed by ppl who SHOULD be allied w us for yrs, this betrayal was so blatant. So real.
