An idea. How about. On top of normal #ClimateFinance, we🇩🇪 announce a competition for best plans to replace FF and expand RE energy and public transport networks in developing nations size_of <= 200 mio citizens. We award 25€ pc/a for 10yrs to the top 10 plans.
It must be national-made plans, not colonial, and they can band together to compete as region, max size 200mio citizens each. We pledge knowledge transfer and open patents so they can build and run regional factories with the prize money, as well.

The idea is to get as many as possible keen to make national or regional plans. And if they don't win - they still have said plan and can lobby for money in the normal #ClimateFinance channels.
And mega important is the creation of new livelihoods in climate hotspots.

Dunno about the total sum for 10 payments for 10 years. I thought €50bn/a a good starting point, or 25€ per capita or €5bn per nation/region. Might be too much for only energy and transport?

We Germans get one popular vote on the plans, too. That should help instil a sense of connectedness, a sense of: We, in it, together.

It's about solving #Equity, halfway. Merkel and other heads of rich states are adamant to not degrow economy but make small steps toward to CO2-zero. Since 25yrs of #climatefinance failed to pay our CO2 debt, this is an idea to get the ball rolling.
I realize that 10 or 20 beneficiaries of ~ 160 nations in need for support is only a start.
And I'm sure "the economy" will degrow by itself, sooner or later. As "export nation", Germans will notice that. Maybe not yet by 2032, the proposed end year of the competition payments.

And I still think for MANY reasons my 10yr "system hiatus", going non-profit and on rations for everything in a growing alliance of nations, is a better way than attempting to unpredictably incentivize change within unjust, voluntary for-profit dynamics. Especially now w/ Covid.
