@KarlHeinzHasliP That most of the money flows as loans is hilarious, given the carbon debt the rich nations have piled up. #Equity oecd.org/dac/financing-… Throwing money at the problem is only 1 part. Nations must be able to spend it, too, eg have manpower. So it might be, €5bn/a can't be spent.

@KarlHeinzHasliP Eg, in a project in Tanzania, 1m new traintracks cost about USD300 (🇩🇪2000), which already includes the 🚆, go figure. Ofc, the vast USD difference has to do with established corruption levels in🇩🇪. But manpower cost shd be much lower in our target states. allafrica.com/stories/202010…

@KarlHeinzHasliP So, in reality, the pledged €50bn/a proposed might pay for 20 top plans in the competition, not only 10. Or we could raise the population size of the target nations. Or transfers cd rise per year, given that nations first train new staff for making and installing infrastructure.

@KarlHeinzHasliP @Umweltbundesamt Germany's carbon debt, if counted from 1992 when UNFCC was established Rio in and we cd no longer deny it: 22Gt = €14.08tn.

And from the Tanzania train project above, we guesstimate that 1€ is worth 7 in our target states, compared to 🇩🇪. So our debt could be €2.012tn, right?

Since #climatemergency is a huge national stability and security issue, we'll draw some € from Bundeswehr and NATO (~ €50bn😁, 1.3% of GDP) for the competition prize.

And rich countries put off interest payback until April 2021 for poorer nations. So, instead of solving the problem, people in this sick system make it worse by doing their BAU without 🧠or❤️.

@KarlHeinzHasliP @Umweltbundesamt But our competition can alleviate some of the deliberately man-made and deliberately upheld private profit and public debt dynamics of our dominant socio-economic system – the root cause for #ClimateEmergency and Covid fallout on humans not being solved but worsened, even today.

@KarlHeinzHasliP @Umweltbundesamt €50bn is ~ 14% of the national budget in a normal year and 10% in 2020, the 1st Covid year.
Merkel and her gang are adamant to not degrow the economy but make small steps in reducing GHG. Looks fair to spend 15% of our budget to reduce CO2 and fight poverty in poorer nations.🤷‍♀️

I'll add it to the one on top. Found it quite useful to compare my intuitive proposal of € 50bn/a with some figures from reality. I could have added German contribution to @theGCF and other #climatefinance tools but they're ridiculously tiny & mostly loans.
