And here in its entirety is everything that USCIS has provided to the public to "explain" the current status of #TPS for El Salvador, Haiti, and certain other countries. This is literally all that's keeping them from losing jobs, licenses, unemployment, etc during a pandemic.
Imagine walking into HR, the DMV, or the unemployment office with a card which expires next month & the page below to try to explain that you are actually in lawful immigration status well past Jan. You'd be very fortunate to find anyone who'd read past the first few sentences
We are a country which holds immigrants strictly accountable to the "rule of law" without even giving them the decency of an explanation of *what their current legal status is,* let alone any evidence of it. Documented people are going unnecessarily undocumented over this.
This is a developing situation based on complex litigation, but w/El Salvador alone these people have paid filing fees totaling thousands of $s every 18 months over the course of ~20 yrs. Can @USCIS not just provide a simple plain-language explanation of their status on its site?
