Okay, so here's a funny thing about anthologies in comics...while sometimes you get to read the other stories in advance, often, you don't see the entire book until everyone else does. I was honored to be asked to write a little story in DEATH METAL: LAST STORIES OF THE DCU.
1/
The great @Ssnyder1835 was kind enough to ask me to participate, writing a story with the Green Arrow/Black Canary romance, which weirdly, I have gotten to write very little of, considering how many BC stories I've done. So I happily agreed.
2/
Then I found out the incredible @MeghanHetrick was available to draw it, and it would be colored by the incredible @marissadraws, so it was going to LOOK beautiful, and I was even happier.
3/
I am a bit behind on comics due to outside projects, but I wanted to be sure I read all the stuff leading up to this short story, which turned out to be a huge pleasure because the METAL stories are like the BEST 4 color acid trips. :)
3/
Messed up the numbering already, sorry. Anyway, we did our story, I was very happy with it particularly because almost all my writing lately has NOT been comics and I miss making them, but also because it just turned out lovely, with gorgeous art.
5/
And today I finally got to read the rest of the book.
Seriously, no hype. If you are a fan of the DCU, if you just love good comics, GET THIS BOOK.
I can't remember a superhero comic with this many gutpunches, not since Crisis On Infinite Earths, maybe.
6/
Just a killer line-up, I can't list everyone, but the art is extraordinary, top creators giving it their a-game. And the writer's bench is ridiculous.
7/
I've been in lots of events and anthology books. This is one of the best I've ever read and I am intensely proud to be included. Spectacular work by @katiekubert and Liz Erickson who edited and wrangled the whole thing.
Great book, a JOY for a DC fan like me!
9/
Thank you everyone involved, thank you everyone who bought it, and just...dang, I really love the DCU.
:)
No hype, I loved this book. Hope you pick one up!
But seriously, be prepared, these teams weren't fooling around and your heart WILL race and skip!
:)

One time I was at a con where David Hasselhoff was a guest, also. We crossed paths several times and he was very friendly, seemed like a perfectly decent dude. He was very fit and handsome, just seemed like a very nice guy for a celebrity. BUT...

...the con hotel, which was very nice, was a bit remote from anything so we all ended up staying around the hotel when the con was done. The celebrities and comics people mixed a little bit, but mostly kept to themselves.

The thing is, this lovely hotel had a glass elevator that game a very nice view, but was very very slow. I don't know why, but it took FOREVER to get to the upper floors. So, one night, after an exhausting con day, @RocketSpouse and I got in the elevator. And...

Okay, my #MagicPorch has gotten way too much magic stuff lately, and I'm behind showing it. But here are some of the things that lovely people have sent recently that I adore, that ALSO would make good holiday gifts. Let's go #MagicPorch!

Here’s the first thing. Many of you know I am an avid gamer and collector of retro games. So one of my favorite things from the past year is the @evercaderetro, an amazing handheld cartridge system with LICENSED versions of long lost games. I love it, and... 2/
...at long last, they finally have released to the multi-carts I have been wanting the most, both featuring games from the Atari Lynx! Twenty five classic games on just two carts!
