📍HOLY MOTHER OF CONQUERING A HOSPITAL OUTBREAK—Vietnam quashed a big 🏥 #COVID19 outbreak. Besides tracing 50,000+ people who were 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree contacts, they also quarantined & gave **FREE ROOM 🛌 & BOARD 🍲 to 27,893** F1 & F1 close contacts during quarantine! Wowzers! Image
2) Think that was a typo? No. They literally quarantined all contacts and even used a “new 9-story building” for accommodations. Plus used hospital contingency funds and Hanoi city funds for food and necessities.

3) Altogether, 7664 at the hospital were quarantined, for a total of 52,000 total contacts. They **only** centrally quarantined and fed 27,000 of them. I wish other govts can learn from Vietnam. They aren’t even that wealthy. But they valued lives. wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/27…

Bathrooms are a concern—because of toilet 🚽 plumes. “Because a flush can release plume of aerosolized droplets in the air—and we know #SARSCoV2 can be spread in fecal matter—encountering toilet plumes from others may put you at risk for #COVID19.” @NatBCo

2) UK has notified the @WHO. The new variant was officially identified for first time last week. Hancock told MPs there is currently "nothing to suggest" this variant is more likely to cause serious symptoms, adding that it is highly unlikely that it won't respond to a vaccine.
