Enough already with the @jimmy_dore obsession & drama. It's not about Jimmy-It's about the idea!
Right now, @SpeakerPelosi has a 4-seat majority. Progressives CURRENTLY have 7 pro-#MedicareForAll House members & 5 more coming. WHY NOT make a demand for your vote (i..e politics)
The whole strategic rationalization of "it's a waste of time; it won't pass" is kind of counter to how actual MOVEMENTS WORK. MLK, Gloria Steinem, Harvey Milk, etc didn't say "let's not bother trying because we won't win on the 1st, 2nd or 5th try."...
Will a #MedicareForAll floor vote pass if progressives force it. No, it won't. BUT THAT IS OK. Part of politics is...wait for it...PERFORMATIVE. Get every House member ON THE RECORD as voting yay or nay for universal healthcare DURING A CATASTROPHIC DEADLY PANDEMIC...
and then, in 2022, progressives primary the corporate Dems who voted no and HAMMER THEM INTO OBLIVION in TV/digital ads on that vote while the popularity and support for M4A will simultaneously be continuing to increase. OF COURSE you don't win on the first try...but getting..
yes or no vote helps crystalize the issue & which side each Dem is on. More so, you probably won't have a better time/moment to force this issue than during a deadly pandemic where 316,000 people have died. Forcing this issue NOW also sets up a dynamic of progressives going on...
OFFENSE against @JoeBiden and his likely presidential successor @KamalaHarris EARLY and OFTEN in the leadup to 2022/2024. I respect @AOC@RoKhanna and others...but the rationalization that "it won't pass now so we shouldn't waste our time/political capital" is wrong.
And it isn't how any historic change or progressive/civil rights victories have happened. You don't win LONG-TERM if you don't PUBLICLY FIGHT years earlier. Progressives need to stop fighting on Twitter with each other and start fighting THE CORPORATE DEMS!
Trump as the boogeyman is no longer a thing...he'll be gone soon (despite his delusions and denials). Take the fight to corporate Dems...they just LOST HOUSE SEATS during a deadly pandemic. They are vulnerable. AGAIN...this is not about Jimmy Dore.

.@jimmy_dore is right to push for @aoc & House progressives to demand #MedicareForAll vote—DURING A CATASTROPHIC DEADLY PANDEMIC—in exchange for voting for @SpeakerPelosi (even if they lose)
Change doesn't come without fighting, issuing demands, & placing oppressors on DEFENSE
Progressives online defending @aoc (who I like and respect) for not doing this by--attacking @jimmy_dore--are missing the forest for the trees. This isn't about whether you like Jimmy or not. It's about progressives who campaigned as FIGHTERS...actually doing so in office.
Of course it is a lot easier for YouTube hosts to second guess elected officials who have an IMMENSE amount of pressure and considerations to make. No one is saying @aoc and other progressives aren't fighters. BUT if you're not going to make demands for #MedicareForAll during...
The corporate media—and Twitter/FB—are still crickets as Hunter Biden's biz partner confirms the emails in @nypost story are real (& that the reference to the "big guy" that 10% equity should be set aside for is...@JoeBiden)
B4 #Resistance heads' explode, let me be clear--this is not about the election and/or who u should vote for. Trump is one of the most corrupt president's (and people) in history. This story doesn't make Biden worse or more corrupt than Biden (which is right wing media's goal)...
This is about a PRIME EXAMPLE of how selective corporate media censorship & propaganda works. For 4 YEARS, @msnbc@cnn@nytimes@washingtonpost have recklessly pushed and elevated highly dubious #RussiaGate stories that were MORE SUSPICIOUS than the @nypost Hunter Biden story...
There was ZERO journalism involved in this blog smearing me of sexually assaulting multiple women. I was not contacted for comment, the word alleged was never used, & it accused me of assaulting 1 woman I'd never even met (she came out after calling for correction-it never came)
I sued @HuffPost for $23.5 million dollars because allowing this LIE to be published, at that time, destroyed my career. I was now unemployable with a tarnished reputation and too much of a risk to potential investors to start my own media company. Yet, because media companies...
Kentucky AG's "investigation" into Breonna Taylor's murder is a cover up.
As Breonna's BF's lawyer noted, A DOZEN witnesses said cops didn't identify themselves at her door—& the LONE WITNESS the AG cited as hearing cops identify themselves ORIGINALLY SAID COPS DIDN'T. THREAD:
Another thing Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron misled the public about was the types of guns the officers who shot at Breonna Taylor/Kenneth Walker had.
AG said Walker fired a 9mm & cops fired a 40mm gun...but according to Lousiville PD records, officer Hankison was issued a 9mm gun.
Another thing Kentucky AG lied about (or he simply doesn't understand and/or follow the law)...
In Kentucky, you can't claim self-defense when you recklessly kill a 3rd party—Breonna Taylor was an unarmed third-party who didn't shoot at Louisville cops and posed no threat
I'd be careful sharing Dr. Marc Edwards' "science" or claims on Flint.
His science, data, & ethics (go ask the poisoned Flint mother he sued for $3 million for the crime of signing a petition against him along with dozens of other residents) are suspect
the Corporate media has lazily propped him up--but after thoroughly looking into his water lead testing and declarations--it's clear his declarations and science aren't worth the EPA-funded paper they're made on
and as @JennElizabethJ and I broke, the water lead testing data was manipulated in Flint for over 2 years under ex-Gov Rick Snyder's environmental department. @ErinBrockovich calls it a crime and the testing should be tossed and redone. vice.com/en_us/article/…
Heartbroken to report that Sarah, 35, terminally ill wife of Anthony @Midgrin, has passed away.
@StatusCoup brought their story to light after their grotesque landlord pushed to evict them amid #COVID19. Anthony's has been her 24/7 caretaker for years.
After we interviewed Anthony, Status Coup viewers came through with over $12,000 via GoFundMe to help Anthony avoid eviction (he owed several months and couldn't easily move his terminally ill wife). Despite this, his landlord CONTINUED pushing them out and cut off plumbing.
Anthony is one of the quiet heroes, whose JOB was harder than man of us working 2-3. He cleaned Sarah, fed Sarah, moved her to and from bed/bathroom and tended to her 24/7 for several years of her illness (ataxia). Most of all he loved her when she needed it most.
