Update: Since a few days there are some showers with warm water. Showers can be taken for only a few minutes once a week. But that does not mean that there are humane conditions now. We will open an extra thread tomorrow to explain the shower system.

The Greek catering company "Elaitis Events" provides the food. The company is based in Alifanta on #Lesbos. On their homepage they advertise that they deliver the best products Greece has to offer. It is the same food that was served in #Moria. Nothing has changed.

The people in the camp suffer enormous psychological stress and are traumatised. "We see children, 2 - 3 year-olds, who become so restless and so scared that they start banging their heads against the wall until they bleed." Katrin Glatz-Bubak, Psychologist

Freedom of the press is not a very high value in Greece. In a ranking by @ReporterOG, Hellas is only 65th out of 180. They are taking advantage of the pandemic to keep the public away from this camp.

We must not forget that these people were forced into #Moria2 after the fire by using violence.

These people came here hoping for protection and a new life. They came because they had to. No one flees by choice. And we lock them up and deny them their rights.
