The allegations arose in a remand application filed by the police before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Esplanade, Mumbai seeking extension of police custody of Dasgupta in the fake #TRPScam case being investigated by the Mumbai Police.

Dasgupta was arrested by the police on December 24, 2020.

He was remanded to police custody till December 28 which has now been extended till December 30.
