Look guys - THE SITUATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST IS PRETTY SERIOUS.

(I know you might say when it wasn't but we are talking risk of a big conflict)

The thread on the reports from the last 24 hours: /0
On the Iranian side, I have seen anecdotal comments from tweeps close to IRGC that "the big fight" is very close and mothers should prepare for the martyrdom of their sons.

Israeli Air Force commander describing the situation in the middle east as "explosive".

Two B52 bombers flew for 30 hours - it has been said as an act of deterrence and to send a message to the Iranians.

CENTCOM Commander warning against any attack

Reports of a big flow of weapons from Iran to Iraq

So could it be:

- anniversary of the assassination of General Soliemani is approaching (in 4 days)
- US props up to deter a retaliation
- Iranian side thinks there is gonna be an attack so they do too
- Vicious circle?
I hope so. Really do.

Keep posting if new developments.
Apologies. The anniversary is in 3 days due to Gregorian vs Shamsi calendars mismatch this year - an important practical point.

One of them in the last tweet mentions a private meeting of MPs with General Qaani, head of Quds Force where he said imminent end of US presence in the region.
Anecdotal reports from an airbase in Iran that they are at the highest alert level. [confirming NYT piece]
[This answer to a tweep might be relevant to others too]

OK, off to bed. Tonight seems to be pretty quiet as the traffic in the air space is normal. Hope we carry on like this until the danger is over.

If you are interested, I will create a new thread if the situation worsens.
I am continuing the thread here. So far all is quiet.

So far what we have seen is a ton of preparation and warning against any sort of conflict.

I hope it stays that way.
And this one from the commander of the Iranian Air Force: "Any [foolish] adventurous action in the region by the adversaries will be responded with a strong response".
