This season has been deeply spiritual. I started praying everyday and I began to pay closer attention to the things God is saying. π§΅
I've never been the type to carry my spiritual gifts on my head, but God casually reminded me that I was a Prophet. I assumed he was referring to my writings, creative gifts and product development capacity.
He did say there are services that do not exist because I have not yet created them. So, in the coming years, I will be very product focused.
He asked me to "Go institutional" and so, I registered my foundation, Subomi Plumptre Trust. It is a home for my causes & philanthropy. Please follow the handle - @thesptrust
God said I should "Lead", so I am approaching things with a renewed sense of urgency. Finally, he stated, "Those who listen to you will prosper." So, I started a Coaching Practice.
My relationship with God is very mission oriented. I hang on to his word. Though I can be stubborn, careless and prone to procrastination at times, I am very interested in the things he's passionate about. He is wise and so I am excited about our journey together.
So, to learn about my new direction and some of the things I'm working on now, check out these links on my website:
MY NEW YEAR CHARGE | My watchword for 2021 is, BE DYNAMIC. Please be open to change and be quick to respond. You may have been surprised by COVID-19 in 2020, but you can't say you are surprised in 2021. π§΅
There might be fresh lockdowns. Vaccinations will need at least a year to be fully distributed. Nigeria will take time to stabilise its currency and to exit a recession & food inflation. Plan for these outcomes.
You already know about these things so, remember the adage, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." While you cannot control the world and you are not in power, look for opportunities and mine them. There are always opportunities in crises.
One of the greatest lies the religious were sold, is that if you're "good", bad things won't happen to you. As a matter of fact, as long as you're human, life will happen to you. As long as you try to do things right, those who prefer the status quo will fight you.
I know too many people who went "bad" because they felt betrayed by God. They keep saying, "After all, I did things right and look what happened to me. Now, I'm going to do all the bad things I didn't do earlier in life."
First, you can't "outbad" the professional bad guys. Chances are you'll simply end up destroying your soul and wrecking what's left of your life.
FOCUS - WHAT IS HAPPENING AND WHY YOU MUST SIEZE THE MEDIA NARRATIVE OF #ENDSARS NOW!
Dear young Nigerians, it's time to FOCUS. Evil has crossed the doorway of the #EndSars protests and is now operating amidst the smoke of confusion and the cacophony of discordant voices. Listen!
The protests were peaceful. Your organisational skills were unparalleled. Your cause is still just and right. In exchange for your bravery & idealism, you were rewarded with carnage, oppression & betrayal. Then, the hoodlums crept in. Divisive ethnic & religious forces walked in.
You are the kind one. The benevolent King. The Almighty who chooses to call us siblings and friends not servants. The Blessed one who always comes with healing in his wings. β€οΈ
May those who choose evil perish for their wickedness. May the oppressors meet with steely justice. May those who mock you and place their knees on the necks of your children be met with sudden fiery judgment.
I am learning to call a spade, a spade even when I run the risk of being told, "Your wahala is too much."
If I pay for service, I deserve service. If I begin a business relationship with kindness, respect and courtesy and you prove incompetent, I'm well within my rights to "change it for you".
I have never met a successful & legitimate business or manager who doesn't use checklists and reminders. "I forgot" is simply not in their lexicon as they review their checklists at least 2ce a day.
