In our Dharma, the three significant realms of existence are Booloka, Pathalaloka and Sivaloka. Around 15 kms from Mayiladuthurai, there are 3 temples representing each. Boolokanadhar in Thirumangalam, Naganathaswamy in Poigaikudi and Sivalokanadhar in Mangudi.
These 3 temples are located in a triangular fashion and are few kms apart. Thirumangalam Boolokanadhar temple representing Booloka, Pogaikudi Naganathaswamy temple representing Pathalaloka while Mangudi Sivalokanadhar temple representing Sivaloka.
It is considered very auspicious to have darshan at these 3 temples during Shivarathiri day and is equivalent to visiting all Shiva temples in all 3 lokas. It is the path to Mukthi (Sivaloka).
'Mangudi' is a derived form of 'Malgudi' Thirumal + Gudi . Thirumal represents MahaVishnu and it is believed that Sri Narayanan stopped here along with MahaLakshmi on his way to Thirumanancheri to witness the divine Shiva-Parvati wedding.
This divine abode is in complete ruins now and pooja is done once in a while by few dharmic minded people.
Let us join our hands to save our faith, heritage and dharma. Credits to kadambur Vijay. goo.gl/maps/wJBTxpaDV…

TEMPLE OF THE DAY: Rishis proclaimed that the panchakshara mantra ‘Na, Ma, Śi, Vā, and Ya’ representing the five elements, five senses as the very essence of Vedas.
Today’s post is about a temple where the Lord reflects our inner self and reveal himself in enchanting five colours
Located in the southern banks of River Cauvery, Thirunallur is the abode of Shri Panchavarneshwarar/Kalyanasundarar and Maa Kalyanasundari. This ancient temple is also deeply connected with two Nayanmars (63 shaivaite saints). @punarutthana@kshetrapalas
The current temple structure with glorious Dravidian architecture dates back to 7-9 century AD Chola period and later expanded by Vijayanagara kings.
Sage Agasthya and Kunthi Devi are closely connected with this temple.
As I see renewed interests among youngsters and dharmic oriented people who are keen to learn about our temples, our glorious history and scriptures, thought of sharing this.
Do listen to ‘Periyava puranathil Periya Puranam’ by Balaji Bhagavathar.
Wonderful upanyasam on Periya puranam with beautiful anectodes and descriptions. Total 102 episodes and I just completed 50.
Immerse yourself in bliss listening to Nayanmars’ glorious lives full of unbridled Bhakti, Sacrifice and mesmerising Tamizh.
For friends who cannot understand Tamizh may miss out on this. However, I will try to post the life history of Nayanmars thro’ my posts on ‘TEMPLE OF THE DAY’ series. Started with Sundarar in Thiruvennainallur yesterday. Do check this space.
TEMPLE OF THE DAY: On this auspicious day of Karthigai Somavaram, let us know about a glorious temple which stands witness to a divine play and bears the footsteps of Lord Shiva in its premise.
Sri Kripapureeshwarar temple in Thiruvennainallur, Villupuram dt, TN @punarutthana
This is that divine place where Lord Shiva appeared as an old man claiming Sundarar ( first of 63 Nayanmars Shaivaite saints) as his attendant on his wedding day.
Here, the Lord is called ‘Atkondanadhar’ and Supreme mother blesses us as ‘Mangalambigai’
The current structure of this temple with its enchanting Dravidian architecture is probably more than 1400 years old.
Sundaramoorthy Nayanar, considered to be the reflection of Lord Shiva born as Nambi Aroorar in Thirunavalur few kms away from Thiruvennainallur in 8th century AD.
Om Namah Shivaya 🙏🏻

With divine grace, Annamalaiyar Arappani Kuzhu led by @pollaavinayen is involved in Uzhavarapani of dilapidated temples since 2006.
Today’s post is about one such revival activity done in 2019. @punarutthana@raaga31280
An ancient dilapidated Shiva temple probably as ancient as 700 years was lying in ruins in Koogaiyur around 250 kms and 12 kms from Chinna Salem on Salem-Perambalur road.
Inscriptions day the Lord’s name is Karyampureeshwarar. With glorious linga thirumeni, the Lord’s presence & divinity was undeniable there. One could feel His presence. With no roof, He was drenched in sun, rain, wind continuously for centuries.@SaveTemplesBH
Thondai Nadu, northern part of ancient Thamizhagam with northern boundary at Thirupati is a treasure trove of divine temples. Also the birth & tapo stal of great saints.
One such ancient temple was brought to light by Annamalaiyar Arappani Kuzhu recently
Sridevi Bhoodevi sametha Sri Adi Kesava Perumal temple at Bagasalai, 45 kms from Poonamallee near Chennai. This temple was in a highly dilapidated condition when Kuzhu surveyed it before Uzhavarapani. @pollaavinayen@punarutthana@raaga31280
Probably there was no Pooja done for last 200 years. Villagers themselves avoided this place as it was home to many poisonous snakes. The temple structure was completely hidden in dense vegetation.
A video below when team surveyed the temple before Uzhavarapani

My duty is to keep serving!
Following the steps of Appar, Annamalaiyar Arappani Kuzhu has revived several dilapidated temples. Today Let us see the successful revival of Sri AdiKamakshi sametha Sri Karkateshwarar temple, Manavur,TN. @punarutthana
Manavur is near the famous Thiruvalangadu. The Lord here is also called Thiru Nandeeswarar. This ancient temple with glorious history was in ruins until 26.10.2014 when Kuzhu did Uzhavarapani by removing overgrown vegetation, cleaning and planting trees.
The temple was restored to its past glory with efforts of villagers & devotees culminating in Kumbabhishekam on 27.01.2019. Though I posted a short thread before, I wished to highlight the sthala purana in detail here. Please read on.
