Prof Gillberg said "teenagers were finding online transgender sites that suggested their problems would be solved if they changed sex. Autistic teenagers, he said, were particularly vulnerable to seizing on a single answer “to the lifelong identity problems they have suffered”.
“Thousands of adolescents are being offered ‘treatment’ with puberty blockers, sex-contrary hormones, and then, finally for some, with a variety of surgical procedures." But "non-existent research evidence that these treatments are of any long-term benefit to the young people."

The funding was due to come to an end in March 2020, it hasn't been 'axed.' These 'anti bullying' schemes have been a means to instigate a re-education programme for teachers & children, complete with a whole new lexicon of words and 'correct' language. bbc.co.uk/news/education…
Under the guise of 'anti bullying', same sex attraction has been erased and replaced with 'same gender' orientation. Lesbians can now be defined as male people with a penis. Lesbians who don't accept this are 'transphobic.' So much for 'anti bullying'.
Young people who don't conform to sex stereotypes are given a 'gender identity' model of understanding themselves which means a girl who is not 'feminine' must identify as Not a Girl. She becomes 'non-binary' or 'trans.' Otherwise she is 'cisgender' which means 'conforming.'

New training module from @HEIW_NHS states: "the main purpose is to achieve a better alignment of an individual’s gender identity with the physical body and/or social gender role". Let's be clear that this means medical and/or social transition.

'Gender identity' (described as 'an internal sense of self') is taken as a fixed immutable reality which must be matched by a 'social gender role' (the specific role for girls v boys is undefined) and the physical body (biologically male or female and impossible to change).
The section on children & young people states: "the only way to avoid damaging their well-being is to embrace their identification and how they navigate the gendered world in the moment." This is a very strong claim. Where is the research and evidence to support it?

Expert analysis of the results of making 'sex' a self-id question in the census, by @ProfAliceS, @lnmackenzie1 & @janeclarejones. We already have one example of the seriously misleading results of a survey based on self-id of sex (thread).
We compared the Stonewall School Report 2012 (data gathered by sex) with the report of 2017 (data gathered by self-id). The School Report 2017 finding that 45% of trans young people have attempted suicide, has had a huge influence on policy making. transgendertrend.com/stonewall-scho…
We calculated the number of actual females who responded to the 2017 survey, and we found an anomaly. All other general population studies show a significant increase in rates of self-harm in girls since 2012. LGBT young people, in every other study, are particularly at risk.
