Good morning everyone, as you all know the Judicial panel of inquiry has for the past 3 months met on Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays. However, in an effort to meet up with the high number of petitioners Justice Okuwobi added an additional day (Wednesday) for proceedings. #ENDSARS
Today is the first Wednesday the panel will be meeting at the Court of Arbitration, this add on brings it to a number of 4 days in a week. #ENDSARS
The time is now 11:45 am, Police, petitioners and legal counsel alike are waiting on the 8 man panel to arrive. #ENDSARS
11:53 AM - Panel arrives, proceedings may begin #ENDSARS
Below is the list of petitioners expected in court today.. #ENDSARS
The first petition is the case of Okpara Felicia (the young woman whose assault was captured and went viral). Police legal counsel, Cyril Ejiofor calls on CSP Hakeem Adekunle Adetokunbo. He is sworn in and begins his testimony #ENDSARS
Hakeem: “I was present the day when she was told to identify the persons that attacked her, she said they were too many so it was hard to pick all of them out” #ENDSARS
Petitioners counsel, Mr. Ridwan takes over cross examination
R: Have you had a chance to view the footage of Felicia been beaten by police
H: Yes I even told her to transfer it to me
R: So none of the police officers brought before you were in that the video
H: No #ENDSARS
R: So you’re saying even though the police men were not identified, investigation was not carried out to find out who was responsible?

** You know what? It’s best to hear Mr. Hakeems’ response yourself.. #ENDSARS
Oh wait there’s more 🤡 #ENDSARS
Cross examination is brought to a close and Mr. Hakeem steps down from the witness stand, this case is adjourned to February 2nd, 2021. #ENDSARS
The next case is that of Ishola Adewusi and 19 others vs SARS. The petitioners have however applied to have their case, Justice Okuwobi obliges and their petition is struck out.

Next case is called. #ENDSARS
Moving onto Sulaiman Raheem vs SARS - The petitioner, who needs use of a walking aid, slowly makes his way to the witness stand. He is sworn in and proceeds to give his testimony #ENDSARS
Just as he’s getting into it, PHCN strikes... again 🙃 #ENDSARS
Powers’ back own, we move.
S: I was on my way back from a football match when a man in a Toyota Camry hit the motorcycle I was on. I was about to confront him when he brought a gun out and shot me. I was shot in the neck and bullet came out at my back #ENDSARS
**Sulaiman takes his shirt off to show his bullet entry and exit wounds. #ENDSARS
After giving his testimony, Petitioners’ counsel enters evidence in as exhibits and Justice Okuwobi adjourns the case to January 27, 2021.

Police counsel will cross examine him on said date. #ENDSARS
The next petition is the case of Mrs. Taiwo Idehen vs Nigerian Police Force. However, due to the absence of the petitioner Justice Okuwobi adjourns the case to February 2, 2021. #ENDSARS
Next petition, Prince Ayeni Adebayo vs SARS. The petitioner doesn’t have pertinent documents to support the case with him so his case is adjourned to January 26, 2021 #EndSARS
Next up is Tomori Gbolagade vs Nigerian Police Force. He testifies to being stopped at a check point and heard 2 gunshots, the 3rd gunshots went through my boot and hit his arm.
T: “I came down from the car, blood gushing out of my hand running towards the police. I was shocked when they ran away too, I went to the closest police station but knowing I was losing blood I decided to call my family, I passed out before I could make the call” #ENDSARS
T: “I was in the ER for over two days and the doctors had to do what they needed to save my arm”

**Tomori shows the court the extent of his injuries.. #ENDSARS
T: I had to go India for an operation: It costs me $10,000, I thought it was a one off. I’ve just found out I would need to do 3/9 surgeries for proper blood supply, flexibility & reinsertion of the tendons. I can’t afford it anymore so I’ve been managing it since 2012 #ENDSARS
The respondent holds off his cross examination and requests it be fixed for another date. The case is adjourned to January 27, 2021. #EndSARS
The next case is that of Ms Jessica Adeobi Ojide vs SARS - It’s a first mention, police legal counsel requests for more time to summon witnesses named in the petition. This case is adjourned to January 19, 2021. #ENDSARS
The final case is Ayuub Abdul Azeez vs Nigerian Police Force, unfortunately the petitioner doesn’t have a lawyer and is assigned one by the Nigerian Bar Association. The NBA rep. requests for more time to study the case and it’s adjourned to February 2, 2021. #ENDSARS
At 2:59 PM The Lagos state panel on restitution for victims of SARS related abuses and other matters rests. The next sitting is slated for Friday, 15th January 2021.

Peace ✌🏾

Time is 9:37, I’m on my way to the court of Arbitration when my cameraman calls to tell me our live TVU transmission is down, other channels have the same problem too. Could they be jamming the signal? Gone to retrieve another one, all green means we are good! #EndSARS
Why is there so much traffic this early in the morning? Will I make it in time? Will the court proceedings start without me? Why today ohhh Lord 🙆🏾‍♀️
Just kidding, got here 10 minutes ago, the panel is’not here yet. Military will be testifying again today, the atmosphere is calm as lawyers, press and the public make their way into the court room. Wondering what time we will start... @ARISEtv #EndSARS
