#GlobalWarming is a SYMPTOM of the CANCER that is our growth-dependent, grossly materialistic, mercenary, rapacious & driven global economy, which is inherently unsustainable on our finite, vulnerable & overpopulated planet, #SpaceshipEarth.

I expected our leaders & their academic advisors to rise to the challenge, but instead they went into denial, putting the economy into super-global & turbo mode.

It wasn't until well into the 1980s that I accepted that this madness was actually happening, that our leaders had opted for #CivilisationalSuicide, rather than face up to the challenge of finding a cure for this cancer.

No one in their right mind would want to destroy civilisation or their own race, so madness is the right world for it. But what is responsible for it?

Primarily it is a lack of awareness. We are not the conscious, rational animals we believe ourselves to be, but are largely motivated by our subconscious, which then rationalises or denies the consequences.

This lack of awareness is most serious in social science academia, whom others look to, & who look to themselves, as authorities on understanding society, the state & sociopolitical reality in general, when in fact they are as ignorant as medieval academics were of astronomy.
#SocialScienceAcademia is thus the source of the madness!
Understandably, no social scientist wants to hear this, & their subconscious sees to it that they don't.

What the social sciences are in urgent need of - on which the very survival of our civilisation depends - is their own Copernican, i.e. Darwinian, Revolution, which stalled in overreaction to the evils of Nazism.
