The #CapitolRiot. How did we get here? About 6 years ago the firehose of disinformation in the US was turned on full blast. The source was #RussianIntelligence. BUT THEN, they stepped back, because the seed was planted. google.com/amp/s/wtop.com…
The fissures in American society they were seeking to exploit, exploded open. When the dust settled, some of our fellow Americans bought fully into the lies the #GRU was pushing, even prominent educated citizens, journalists, politicians and others. google.com/amp/s/wtop.com…
Then in 2016 many of the conspiracy theories pushed out by groups like Qanon became convenient fodder for politicians, business people, journalists and everyday citizens seeking to push their own agendas. #CognitiveDissonance THAT is when the dangerous talk about #CivilWar began
January 6, 2021, can’t be blamed on Russian intelligence. It was a homegrown USA attack (which Russian intelligence was hoping for) that blew up in our faces and proved that words, lies to be more specific, can kill. google.com/amp/s/wtop.com… @threadreaderapp unroll

The extreme anger, numerous symbols of hate and unbridled #racism on display during the #Capitolriot by many educated and professional people, from across the country, shocked a lot of people. It also reminded many of the #lynchmobs from the Deep South in the #JimCrow era. BUT...
The MOST disturbing element is the enablers in the shadows, who according to law enforcement sources, helped them conceal their weapons, which they retrieved at some point between the rally on the mall and the riot.
Another MAJOR, real-time takeaway that we’re often oblivious to: The subtle hateful acts, and racist behavior unfolding around us in social, work and other community settings, that are masked by smiles and flattering language.

ALERT: L/E sources: In the coming weeks and months “the list of those who planned the #CapitolRiot will grow and surprise some and confirm suspicions of others.” #InsideJob Image
Key questions being investigated are “where did all those weapons come from -ropes, ladders, sledge hammers, hockey sticks, metal pipes, flex cuffs? Did they hide all these things someplace? How could they have gotten to the Capitol without police noticing?”
Investigators are also wondering what some of those security companies who are supposed to warn the USG about this kind of thing were hearing.

1. How is Secret Service planning to protect the Inauguration from the violence that occurred last week?
Planning is the key word. They’ve been planning this inauguration for more than a year. And it’s important to note that comparing security around the Capitol on an ordinary day and an inauguration are like comparing an Apple to an entire Orange tree.
On Inauguration Day there are many thousands of people involved in protection that we don't see. There are technological capabilities, military and cyber assets, There are #WMD assets. The air, water and land are covered like a blanket.

UPDATE: Hearing that intelligence experts and investigators are "walking the cat back" to "determine if and/or when" the planning for the deadly #CapitolRiot began. Based on details from sources, a Dec. 19th tweet from President Trump may have played a role.
He said, "Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild." Those words, according to posts on social media sites frequented by some of his supporters, were interpreted to be, according to an intel source, "a hidden message" designed to take action.
