(1) My view on this: If true then, great.

Everyone with certain info should be an informant for law enforcement. It can save lives.

I'm really looking forward to the 1/6 court trials. Because I #BackTheBlue and some of those people caused the deaths of at least two cops.
(2) I said "at least" two cops to allow for more deaths to be reported in future.

Then while checking the spelling of a name, I found a THIRD cop is now dead.

Brian Sicknick was fatally assaulted. Howard Liebengood suicided. Jeffery Smith did too, 9 days after 1/6.

RIP.
(3) I anticipate we will eventually learn what evidence suggested that these two officers suicided because of serving at the capitol on 1/6.

Tragically, LEOs in general have a higher suicide rate than the public. So do doctors, veterinarians, firefighters, & military.
(4) The known death toll from 1/6 now stands at 7:

1 LEO killing
2 LEO suicides
1 rioter killed
3 protesters died of natural causes

Re the latter group, I don't buy the line that it's a normal number of deaths at a large gathering.
(5) I have read about the 3 natural causes deaths. They had cardiac risk factors eg age, weight, gender, comorbidities... perhaps the heightened emotions of the event contributed. Perhaps the cold weather did.

I said beforehand no one should go to the rally because:
(6) Essentially, no good would come from the rally on 1/6. I said:

>the left would bait Trump supporters & conspire to have them accused of crimes
>the idea of pressuring congress during the session would backfire politically
>a big, hyped up crowd can be unpredictable
(7) I also said that if some at the rally became violent, not even Trump himself would be able to call them off. Pretty sure that by the time Trump starting trying that via Twitter & a video that was rapidly banned, none of the rioters were gonna turn back based on that.
(8) Trump's responses once the riot began were too little, too late. His next video message calling for peace came a full SEVEN days later. As such, it was an insult to folk on all sides. Made his position worse, not better.

I read the transcripts of all Trump speeches in Jan.
(9) At no time did I see Trump taking an optimal approach concerning 1/6 or the related issues.

If there were competent advisers, he must have ignored their advice.

If his advisers were incompetent, that's on him, too.

He had access to the BEST advice in the world, 24/7.
(10) Which brings me to another central issue concerning 1/6.

Clearly, Trump and Pence were operating under legal advice that was not the same as the other man's legal advice.

Both men had a duty to seek the best advice & make a wise call on the way forward.
(11) I would love to know what legal advice Trump had, if any, leading him to think Pence really could send the matter back to the contested states. Pence's letter dated 1/6 made it clear to me that such action was outside his powers as VP/Chair of that type of Joint Session.
(12) There was a legal context and a political context.

Politically, Trump's actions and omissions on and around that day were disastrous for him, Pence, the administration, the GOP, and ultimately, the American people.

Many of us see this fact. We're largely silent though.
(13) I'm not ashamed of supporting the Trump-Pence campaigns and administration.

I'm disappointed beyond words in what Trump did and didn't do when it mattered most.

Talking about it attracts "I told you so" from our political opponents.

I don't care. But others do.
(14) At a time that's extremely challenging for most people bc of the pandemic & other national-level problems, who has the spare emotional energy for a political fight that is much lower in priority? It's like it's a "first world problem."

Trump's comfortable rn. Are you?
(15) At the moment I'm wandering in and out of Twitter as I get a much needed break from thinking about international politics. I'm here most days, to read DMs from great e-friends, as I call them.

I haven't disappeared. I'm just working on things I need to do irl.

(1) Dems are thrilled about this bc they believe Dominion will win the suit. IDC much about Lindell or his claims, but I do know that if you're not careful what you say, you can walk right into legal liability & end up with no credibility &, often, no money. Hope it was worth it.
(2) And now I will provide context and background, bc there's never enough space in one tweet to do that.

I realize Mike Lindell is making claims about the election fraud that all sensible people can see happened. The nature of the fraud is that there were multiple parts to it.
(3) I agree that a large number of those fraud methods occurred in certain states (and in some cases, potentially in all states.) It's become very difficult to find reliable, accurate, sufficiently detailed information on all these cases.

(1) I warned y'all about the openly antisemitic Anthime Joseph "Tim" Gionet AKA Baked Alaska way back in 2016.

His record in activism/ petty crime is similar to that of "Ali Alexander" AKA Ali Akbar.

It's not "performance art": People get killed. See: 3/15/19 in NZ.
(2) On 3/15/19 in Christchurch NZ 51 innocent members of the public were shot & killed by an Australian male whose behavior & beliefs are not that dissimilar to what we've seen by some who unlawfully entered the Capitol on 1/6/21.

Maybe that's why my view differs from others.
(3) I am on the side of every person who was lawfully in the Capitol that day. Not just the politicians: the cops, the staff, and anyone else who wasn't there with the intent of threatening politicians to vote a certain way OR ELSE.

That's why so many are being arrested.

(1) My thought on this development.

There is a history of Trump or his associates intentionally allowing notes to be photographed by media. There is also a history of them doing it unintentionally.

For now, I'll assume these notes were written by Lindell, not Trump.
(2) Thoughts*. I meant to say these are my thoughts on it. I can never do justice to a topic like this in one tweet.

The info we can see in the photo of the notes is obviously incomplete, but there's enough that points to some of the batshit insane ideas of some associates.
(3) The followers of the batshit insane associates tend to believe that on J20 Trump will somehow magically make it all better by using the military, and making high profile arrests.

I'm here to tell you that most MAGA folk DO NOT believe this garbage. They hate the Qanon crap.

(1) Oh great. More remarks that will only fuel more division. Yeah yeah I know various people are gonna unfollow, block or say mean words to me for trying to assess this speech objectively.

You think I care about that rn? You don't know me at all. Start with my pinned tweet.
(2) From 2015, Trump's opponents exaggerated his flaws, made stuff up, & refused to see the good things he often did.

Part of the effect was to make his supporters dig in deeper to defend him. There was willful blindness.

Opponents should be glad eyes are opening up. But, no.
(3) People on both sides allow "emotional reasoning" (in quotes because it isn't reasoning at all) to invade the space in their mind where logical reasoning and basic empathy should be in charge.

My empathy never wavered but I did let emotion go too far.

That said,

I can't even say it was good that he said this, bc saying it 7 days later makes a mockery of the words.

It only inflames. I spoke up several times in Dec/Jan about his tweets recklessly, needlessly promoting the march. Then I saw him fail to review USCP status on the AM of 1/6.
OTOH this, is an example of statesmanship.

I now realize Mike Pence has represented all Americans by being by the President's side all this time in case intervention was genuinely needed.

On 1/6, it was. Not before.

whitehouse.gov/briefings-stat…
What Mike Pence has been put through is incredible poor treatment in both directions. He showed us how to keep your cool and do your duty no matter what.

The left has always said disgusting hateful things about him.

Then a noisy faction on the right started letting rip.

The Ds aren't doing this to reduce the incitement of violence. That's just the cover story.

They're doing all this stuff to neutralize opposition. Experts on foreign revolutions; the faster they take over, the greater chance of success.

Act accordingly. Get offline, & prep.
Above photo: People trying to get into the US Embassy Saigon compound in 1975.

I was gonna spend today writing threads about how to prepare for what's ahead in the next few weeks. Then I saw the Ds' timeframe is more like days, hours even.

So that all went out the window.
I have no idea if I'll be able to tweet for long so please take nothing for granted from now on.

You and your family can get through this. Please don't give up hope. A couple of days ago I thought about folk at risk of suicide. Check on those around you. Ask how they are.
