70 countries have reported cases of B.1.1.7 (53 of which have sequences on GISAID), no increase from yesterday.
pangolin assigned B.1.1.7 to 36,555 sequences on GISAID from 53 countries. 33,941 of those sequences are from the UK.
As of today, 31 countries have reported cases of lineage B.1.351 (23 represented by a total of 725 sequences on GISAID).
Newly represented among other countries with B.1.351 sequences on GISAID is Mozambique, with 20 sequences uploaded by the Instituto Nacional de Saude (INS), Mozambique. Earliest sequence sample is 2021-09-28, 10 days before the earliest public South African sequence. @Tuliodna
There are confirmed reports of lineage P.1 from a total of 7 countries. @nmrfaria
Again, no increase in sequences today on GISAID assigned lineage P.1: Brazil 28, Japan 4, Italy 3, USA 1, Faroe Islands 1, South Korea 1.
