“Don’t you dare try to tell me that people are blaming this on antifa and BLM. We proudly take responsibility for storming the Castle. Antifa and BLM or [sic] too pussy… We are fighting for election integrity. They heard us.” — new Capitol attack defendant John Gennaro
"MELLIS can be heard saying 'Knock their masks off' before the BWC shows MELLIS’ hand – wielding the stick – come over the top of the first individual, striking at the officers who were protecting the entryway to the Capitol Building.”
Online sleuths dubbed Jonathan Gennaro as #cowboyscreech per @capitolhunters. His ID had been out there for awhile, as you can see:
“Cowboy Screech” is very good nickname, one that might’ve even cleared the FBI process. But the bureau hasn’t nicknamed insurrectionists yet, as wrote here: huffpost.com/entry/fbi-capi…

Got overtaken by the Brent Bozell IV news, but yesterday the feds also unsealed charges against Dean Egtvedt, an “incoherent” Trump fan who yelled “SHOOT ME” at officers and told members to “grow a spine or fucking resign” on Baked Alaska’s livestream during the insurrection.
"Officer M.D. tried to grab EGTVEDT below the waist but could not, due to EGTVEDT’s size. He then attempted to push EGTVEDT back in the direction of the south exit door and 'held on for dear life’ due to EGTVEDT’s size.” assets.documentcloud.org/documents/2048…
About a month after Dean Egtvedt assaulted cops during the attack on the U.S. Capitol, “Dan Egtvedt” posted Benny content about “disrespect towards the National Guard."
Internet sleuths did a ton of work here, but the earliest mentioned tip to the FBI on Jan. 14 came from W-1, who “was affiliated with the same school that Bozell’s children attended.” The school-banded apparel started some discussion. W-2 is more of a pure internet sleuth.
Several Capitol insurrectionists, upset that Antifa was getting credit for their work, complained on social media (and generated evidence the feds used against them).
Live by the conspiracy theory, get charged because you took to Facebook to convince your fellow conspiracy theorists that their latest conspiracy theory wasn’t true. huffpost.com/entry/trump-ca…
"Listen up: I hear so many reports of ‘Antifa’ was storming the capital [sic] building. Know that every single person who believes that narrative have been DUPED AGAIN!” huffpost.com/entry/trump-ca…
The feds have submitted additional evidence against Capitol riot defendant Matthew Miller, who they are arguing should be kept locked up until his trial.
“….the defendant was not only calling for others to assist in pushing through law enforcement, but he encouraged others and repeatedly attempted to push through with the crowd himself.” courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
Miller’s defense, meanwhile, submitted letters describing Miller as "very cheerful," "kind-hearted and respectful of authority," "upbeat," "a genuinely good person," and "smart, generous, giving, hardworking, a good friend to others…"
