The Political Plane is the most stated/visible/noisy - for it determines the administration & order.
India has been at various times
- a Collection of Janapadas
- a Collection of authoritative Kings
- a Collection of Federations
- a Collection of Emperors
Purushartha perspective organised Indian State thus.
1. Centralised for Justice & Security 2. Decentralized into Communities for most part of Life 3. Aristocracy to manage the overflowing 4. Special Processes for special needs Eg., Uthiramerur Democracy
1. Our Unity came from the shared Purushartha Perspective that flowed into the notion of Bharatavarsha.
2. Our Centralization was limited to the purpose of Security & Justice that flowed from the concept of Dharma. The Rajasuya represented this Centralization.
Simply checkout all the Bharatavarsha references over two millennia, in all corners of India.
Why would Chalukyas, Cholas, Pallavas refer to Bharatavarsha, Jamboodveepa, Ayodhya otherwise?

Lets come back to the original problem.
Just because #Bharatavarsha existed in the civilizational space and not expressed itself as a State, it does not mean that we were not a Nation in the past.
You can posit the Modern State as a truly modern entity but not the Nation.
+
#Bharatavarsha Consciousness - Trio of Civilization, Nation and State.
The Civilization is the perspective of life flowing into all aspects & organization of life.
The Nation is the hidden political consciousness of the society
The Modern Liberals do not understand this connection and flow. Just because a form of the State did not exist in the past they deny the consciousness of the Nation because they smartly refuse to enter into appreciating these linkages.
Our Civilization expressed itself as a collection of independent kingdoms at a point in time. But never abandoned the Purushartha based Bharatavarsha consciousness.
A Cultural Unity that could spawn an integrated polity always existed.
We were always a single Civilization. The political form of it, the Rashtra expressed itself as multiple states at various times. Now, it is expressing itself as a single state as that is the need of the hour.
Even the British recognised this reality when they called their Business Enterprise as “East India Company” representing the entire regions from Afghanistan to Burma. Even from the outside they saw us as a single entity.
This is a thread of gratitude to the great Dharampal.
He opened our eyes to a different Bharateeya Civilization in the pre British era than what was taught to us at school, college and thereafter by the modern historians.

Thanks to Rashtrotthana Parishad for publishing his works again. Even more important to thank Claude Alvarez for publishing Dharampal through his Other India Book House, Goa - when nobody cared for Dharampal. @Rashtrotthana_P
I read Dharampal some 15 years back. His work was freely available on the net for download. After a couple of essays I decided buy them and ordered copies from the publisher which was delivered over post.
Ever since I have recommended and forced many to buy & read Dharampal.

Shraddhanjali to Shri. #RoddamNarasimha . May he attain Sadgati.
Apart from all his scientific achievements, and establishing #NIAS, he was responsible to call out a crucial difference between the fundamental thought difference between the West and India.
What are the deep reasons for India not producing great Programmers/Software Engineers in large scale?
1. The foremost problem of not studying in one's mother tongue is a true and real problem. @sankrant has already elaborated that over and beyond the context of SW Engg.
1/n
There are other contextual problems.
2. The most astounding and unfortunate reason is that there is not enough emphasis on Foundational Skills. The importance of subjects like Data Structures and Algorithms has weakened significantly in Engineering curriculum except the top
2/n
3. In Data Structures and Algorithms, students must solve a lot of problems of varying degree of complexity. That builds a perspective of Computation. Leave alone many problems, these two subjects have been completely dumbed down.
