2/I came to enjoy his online novel "Rythyms" most.
To me, it read like a Tom Clancy novel, but better. The ultimate balance of technical detail and jargon blended seamlessly with common descriptions for the uninitiated so it read well to any reader.
3/We (his peanut gallery) begged him to publish it. He was humble and deflected our demands with grace, yet eventually did investigate it and was told his format of jumping between the main characters wouldn't work.
We certainly didn't agree......
4/His work inspired me to take a stab at the concept. Having begun my career passing gas to other combat vessels, and his opening chapter having a CV along side a fat ship, I leveraged off the story line, to get my experiences as a complimentary piece.
5/That got me thinking, and I pitched it, a concept to spawn multiple stories told from those 1st person perspectives, of characters in each story.
As with his main story, the views from each perspective could be fleshed out in similar detail, creating a platform.....
6/for ever expanding additions.
Some story lines would run parallel, some weave in an out in intersections, such as mine, others would be tangential stories, heading off in their own direction.
The plane captain, the "shooter" on the deck, the spouse back home. It's endless!
7/No one seemed to buy in...obviously, but I did own the domain blogvels.com for a few years b4 letting it go.
Using hyperlinks between the stories, allowed by the digital would could have provided endless reading enjoyment, but IMHO, opportunities to see into...
8/the lives of others on a format approaching a more real life view...as their voices chimed in with the #BTDT detail of their part in the larger story.
This is my thanks for his inspiration that made me share my 1st person "add on" and to dream of a larger opportunity.
9/It was gratifying to read comments left on my story as well, with "it took me back" ones a few times from sailors who had also been part of the MSLF (Mobile Service Logistics Force) Navy.
There are so many posts of consequence on Lex's blog to mention, but this thread
9/would go in for days.
Treat yourself, head to the archives and poke around. I'm confident you'll be glad you busted, or revisited, the works of an exceptional soul.
2/as to extract how it can be spent. If not spent that way, it's prison time by law.
That being said, I'm tempted to backtrack some budget lines of foreign aid in order to test my theory that politician junkets are to identify willing companies within willing governments...
3/were they can plan out "spending language," for example, "to develop oil and gas production in Ukraine" because Burisma committed to being the passthrough for the Fed $ to be kicked back to certain Congress ppl....and the method.
1/We are there. By ceding control exclusively to medical types focused only on stopping deaths from a virus, the precedent is now cemented in the elite and non-thinking ppl's heads, this is the proper way, since mankind never did it right before.
2/Worse, the "WORST CARE!" alarmism is now the expected method of calculating all pandemics forever more. Side observation:. Like every death now is from COVID-19, all communal things like the common cold will henceforth be elevated to the exhaulted "SCIENCE!" status....
3/Now, just as mankind has never "done socialism right," the doomsayer's have flipped the narrative on what it is to quarantine....coz humanity got this far (too many of us have, according to Bill Gates, it seems, among other "thinkers") by handling disease wrong!
@ski_nh@Matthewmercuri1@mikeandersonsr 1/On one hand, your correct. On other hand, in an office, the signal strength is low and plenty of RF noise. With out closely located, very sophisticated gear (which would be obvious) u get white noise.
We came to that conclusion with TEMPEST, too. Even b4 computers
@ski_nh@Matthewmercuri1@mikeandersonsr 2/everywhere, the elex sugnals of xmitters, rcvrs, couplers, patch panels, etc we realized would have to be captured so close aboard while at sea, the AGI would be scraping your paint and still be recording signals from multitude of equipment, not discernable
Even pierside, if you hadn't shifted Guard to the COMMSTA, a truck full of gear would have to come into Pier, which was heavily restricted environment.
Like "leaks" of IP today, most all of it is insider job.
1/Notice how the common theme now is framed "if you go out of your home, you're risking death" and also"...you're going to kill someone with a compromised immune system!"
Focus group approved "messaging?"
The Left sees this as the grand opportunity to set up counting votes...
2/in the back room, and you can be sure they've figured, like morning after Benghazi, they have enough players who will gather in a backroom and "select" the "proper evidence" and destroy the rest.
On top of that, keeping ppl apart does drain the energy from the cause....
3/They see bonus is suppressing Trump rallies all the way to election day. WWE tried an event with no audience month ago and everyone said it sucked. Wrestlers thrive off crowd and they said it wasn't there to help.
Left elites cannot abide crowds cheering for something...
1/Thread: Our monitored life and "Red Flag" laws.....Disclosure: I'm that annoying person who thinks on the details of the portrayed Big Picture stuff.
Yesterday, local rock station commercial:
Someone: "ALEXA! PLAY XX.X ROCK!"
Alexa: "You don't have to yell!"
......
2/Consider how in SM, viral videos by lefties showing anyone who disagrees with them and says it with conviction and volume are "angry."
Consider how all the rage is passing "Red Flag" laws to allow "authorities" to confiscate firearms from legitimate owners,...
3/because anyone considers them "angry."
Now these truncated videos are "evidence." Context that may come from a real investigation be damned...we've been told any angry person is a mass shooter just waiting for and opportunity....so:
Considering all that is happening south of the border, this isn't merely a "distraction" from elections, nor is it a case of legitimately seeking asylum, and I think far beyond circumstance to "embarrass" the President.
A "force" 10-15K is growing rapidly.
2/Begun as a "few thousand," it's now the size of an Army Division. Granted, no weapons on them, but consider that. Yes, it's even got women, too, but...the pictures appear to have vast percentage of ppl in frame as military aged males. Not a lot of kids, either.
3/They still have days to get to the US-Mexican Border, so how large a group might we be facing, as the showdown is set to happen?
Big picture in my mind: This is a not kidding proxy war on the US by foreign governments, and obviously fueled by massive amounts of NGO funding.
