(1) Loof Science II - Chapter 6: Putting it all together

What do we know and what do we suspect based on the scent dog evidence in the Teresa Halbach murder case? ImageImageImageImage
(2) Chapter 6 - Part 1: Defense Failures

The failure of the defense to use the Scent and HRD Dog evidence:
- To strengthen their argument about planted bones,
- To show the importance of the Kuss Rd. burial site, and
- To poke large holes in the state's case is immense. ImageImageImage
(3) The defense should have introduced Tracks #3 & #4 (top) & #5 & #6 (bottom) and corroborated them with the HRD alerts on the excavated dirt at the suspected burial site, and the mysteriously appearing trail from the deer camp back to the berm, SW of Steven's yard (#4 v. #6). ImageImageImageImage
(4) Not putting Track #6 in front of the jury for as long as possible was a grave mistake.

First establish this is not a defense exhibit, but was drawn by a Police woman contemporaneously to her Scent Dog's work. Image
(5) Then the defense should've called multiple witnesses to discuss this dog track: the officers who found the bones, for instance, making sure to point out that this appeared the sometime the night before they found them.

This needed to be indelibly etched in the jury's mind. Image
(6) Track #5 should have been used to show how the scent dog found a trail that ended at the Kuss Road suspected burial site, and the HRD dog alert report should have been introduced to show that the dogs alerted on the excavated dirt.

"Not pertinent", indeed! ImageImageImage
(7) Track #1 should have been introduced to show that the tracks away from the RAV4 went away from Steven Avery's home, and appeared to show someone eventually escaping in a vehicle going north on Jambo Creek Road.

Brutus corroborates Loof. Image
(8) What would the prosecution present to impeach a Police woman? None of it would have been good for their case. Image
(9) Chapter 6 - Part 2: What we suspect

I believe the scent dog evidence would have been compelling in court. @ZellnerLaw latched onto shortly after seeing it.

Unfortunately, we likely have to solve the case now in order to overturn a jury verdict. Image
(10) First, we strongly suspect that rogue Law Enforcement Officers planted the bones in Steven's burn pit the night of 11/07-08.

The property was under police custody.

Making Steven look more guilty served noone but the state. The real perpetrator was already in the clear. Image
(11) Also, planting bones would be extremely risky for anyone who wasn't allowed on the property at the time. You could be shot on sight.

Further, the pattern behind the berm suggests the perp waiting for an opportunity to plant, knowing a LEO was watching Steven's burn barrel. ImageImageImage
(12) I suspect rogue LEOs moved the cremains to Steven's burial pit, because they had failed to identify them when they excavated the Kuss Road burial site. Admitting that to DCI and WI SCL and later at trial would be very embarrassing.

This is more speculative than the rest. Image
(13) We strongly suspect Ryan was showing Law Enforcement the location of the RAV4 on the Avery property, 11/04/2005.

Locating the RAV4 was the 11/04 goal.
The flyover ended at ~3:05pm.
22 "NO CALL ID" calls, 3:11pm to 7:25pm.
Pam Sturm goes straight to the RAV4, 11/05 10:29 AM. ImageImageImageImage
(14) Timeline of the "NO CALL ID" calls suggests Law Enforcement called Ryan to help after the flyover failed.

- Failed flyover ended, ~3:05pm.
- First "NO CALL ID" call, 3:11pm.
- First "D" code call, 4:15pm.
- Chuck Avery, "Lights in the PIt", 7:20pm.
- Last "D" call, 7:25pm. Image
(15) Suspicious Pam Sturm events couple with unbelievable luck at the yard.

- Only person assigned to Avery property.
- Only person given Pagel's number.
- Only person given a camera.
- Arrives at yard around 10am, calls CASO by 10:29am. ImageImageImageImage
(16) This all suggests that Ryan told CASO he found the RAV4 on Steven's property the night of 11/03-04, after determining where her last stop was. Ryan denied this in his testimony.

If he did find it, at least one of the parts of Track #1 was left by Ryan and perhaps both. Image
(17) Track #1-A, the egress trail, is also totally consistent with Wilmer Siebert's testimony about the White Jeep and the RAV4.

Alternatively Track #1-B could be the ingress trail on 11/04, and #1-A could be the egress trail. Image
(18) Returning to Pam Sturm for a moment, she arrived at the yard around 10:00 am, got permission to search and worked a 400 yard path through the yard directly to the RAV4. She made the call to Sheriff Pagel's direct line at 10:29 am.

Circles: Yard Offices and RAV4. ImageImage
(19) Key Question:

Did Ryan really find the RAV4 on the salvage yard the night of 11/03-04, or did he plant it there with an accomplice driving his brother-in-law's brother's white CJ-5?

Could the RAV4 license Plate ID near Appleton be credible?

(20) We will discuss all the suspects in the next chapter, but clearly, Ryan Hillegas has a lot to answer for, and he refuses to cooperate with the defense investigation.

At best, we think he acted as an agent of the police, performed an illegal search, then perjured himself. Image
(21) Ryan's search, and the staged finding of the RAV4 by Pam Sturm, was used by the state to justify the search warrants for the Avery property.

The bone fragments and the DNA evidence are fruit of that poisonous tree. Image
(22) At worst, Ryan knew where the RAV4 was because he planted it there, purposefully selecting a location on the perimeter so it could be easily found without entering the property.

That would make Ryan our killer. Image

(1) Loof Science II - Afterword

The call to fight injustice unites the world in a righteous cause.

Might for right. Not might makes right.

Thank you for your interest and help. ImageImageImageImage
(2) Well it took a long time, but I finally re-reviewed all the dog scent and alert data with the new knowledge I received from Jeff Young. The pandemic delayed me, but I was not deterred. ImageImageImage
(3) I looked at each track under multiple working theories:

- Tracking or Air Trailing
- Teresa's Scent
- Freshest Scent Trail
- Contaminator of Scent Article/Carrier of Teresa's Scent
- Other training goal (drugs/human remains/explosives) Image

(1) Loof Science II - Chapter 8: Call to Action re Operation Dog Nose and Operation Minelab

Cremains likely remain along many of the Loof Tracks. A top HRD dog could help us find them.

The Tracks also provide places to look for Buried Evidence w/a SotA Metal Detector. ImageImage
(2) One thing Jeff Young told me about his Scent and HRD dog Zoe was how far K9 training had progressed since 2005 and how sensitive Zoe's nose was for cremains.

I believe Jeff said he had worked cases with 10 year old cremains and felt 20 year old cremains were possible. Image
(3) We think Teresa's cremains were buried at the Kuss Rd. Burial Site because the uprooted tree hole was easy to dig out, and then excavated by Law Enforcement and carried to the berm, and on to Steven's burn pit.

Brutus and Loof even alerted in the quarry pit. ImageImageImage

(1) Loof Science II - Chapter 7: What does the scent dog and HRD evidence say about our top suspects?

Steven Avery
Brendan Dassey

Scott Tadych
Bobby Dassey

Ryan Hillegas
Scott Bloedorn

Rogue Law Enforcement ImageImageImageImage
(2) Overall, the Scent and HRD Dog evidence is:

Highly Inculpatory for Rogue Law Enforcement: it shows them planting cremains while the property was under Police Custody.

Inculpatory of Ryan Hillegas: showing he led Law Enforcement to the RAV4 on 11/04. Image
(3) The evidence is also:

Highly Exculpatory for Brendan and Bobby Dassey: it shows Brendan's so-called confession is totally false, and it provides evidence of malfeasance not involving either Brendan or Bobby.

Exculpatory for Steven Avery and Scott Tadych. Image

(1) Loof Science II - Chapter 5: A more speculative theory about Tracks #1-A and #1-B

What if the person who laid Track #1-A, came back later and tried to retrace his/her steps, and that created Track #1-B, or vice versa. Image
(2) Our current theory of the 22 calls is that Ryan H claimed to have discovered the RAV4 on 11/03 or 11/04, and then came back, perhaps with Mike H, to confirm its location for Law Enforcement. Image
(3) Perhaps Track #1-A was Ryan Hillegas coming back out after finding or planting the RAV4, and Track #1-B was Ryan trying to retrace his steps with Mike Halbach.

Without a scent dog, Ryan would retrace the path imperfectly. Image
