Lambrini Papadopoulou highlights that Greek government tried to render critical reporting invisible & took various measures to restrict access to information during the pandemic.
Greek governement set up financial scheme to support #journalists during the pandemic, however did only financially support journalists who reported loyally to Greek governement. @documentonews was excluded from funding. Photojournalists arrested during #COVID19 protests.
Protests are essential to democracy’s functioning. Yet, covering demonstrations have become a dangerous situation for journalists due to attacks & intimidation.
