#SupremeCourt bench states that it was of the opinion that a committee be formed to frame guidelines on ascertaining economic value of trees to be felled. However CJI says it might not be able to pursue the committee report on time (CJI Bobde to retire in end of April)

CJI SA Bobde: We will lay down guidelines which needs to be taken into account for ascertaining the economic value of trees.

CJI: we had said Ranjeet Singh is a senior member in this field and be in the committee

SG: He is not well

CJI: he had appeared before us. He seems quite well

SG: we will give the names by evening or tomorrow

ASG Aishwarya Bhati: We recommended the Director Genera of ICFRE be made the Chairperson. There are a total of 5 members.

@DrAMSinghvi : We have given 4 names to the list

Singhvi: Members of Wildlife Institute of India and Dr Fayaz who is a member of the Biodiversity project. You can pick up the names.

CJI: We will form the committee and they can submit the report.

@pbhushan1 : I had suggested Mr Pradeep Krishan and Dr Yuvi Singh

CJI: Does Mr Singh has expertise on trees?

P Bhushan: He is the principle conservator of forests

CJI: Krishan is a known expert on trees. Note down Yuvi Singh and Mr Krishan. What should be the strength?

SG: smaller the better. Committee is a body of persons who decide something which can never be decided together.

Dr Singhvi: Committee is a group of unfit, appointed by the unwilling to do the unnecessary (all laughs). Don't haul me up for comment. @DrAMSinghvi

CJI: Frankly I don't believe committee can submit the report by April. But the cause is more important than the bench composition.
