Let's consider Chris Shelley's recent article in the NP. The writer makes two well crafted points through a simple presentation of data. Those points revolve around LTC facilities and Canada's inability to protect the vulnerable.....2/

He makes a serious point. Canada was a bottom dweller and if we achieved an LTC safety standard akin to Germany, there would have been no pandemic. C19 deaths would have averaged 7500 a year, roughly in line with the flu. We wouldn't have noticed....3/

His second point was subtle but a point jabbed at public health. He noted that there was no relationship between C19 prevalence in the population and LTC deaths. This presumed relationship laid at the heart of Canada's general suppression strategy.....4/

That strategy was a complete abject failure at protecting LTCs. It must be recognized as such and never revisited. Those countries that implemented focused LTC protection had a far better outcome. The Great Barington Declaration strikes again....5/

Public health and their flight to the fantastical during C19 should forever haunt us. Public health thought that an anodyne, untested theory was good enough to protect the LTCs. It wasn't and in the process, public health ripped apart the nation....6/

The public health community should be raked over the coals for the C19 debacle. As to whether that will occur, depends entirely on establishment media putting resources into journalistic efforts like those of Mr. Shelley. End.
