Radical Christians who refuse to acknowledge health research and science as valid & legitimate guides to protect the public’s health are demanding they be exempt from covid restrictions and mandates.

We have public health mandates that apply to everyone or we have compromised public health.

Public health orders cannot be arbitrarily exempted for certain populations because of unscientific and ignorant beliefs. We are all equal under the law, which includes health orders.

There are no exemptions for stealing. None for break and enter. No hall passes for fraud. And no breaks for those who want to drink and drive. The law applies equally to all or it’s not a law.

This is what the Dominionist community is attempting.

They are requesting an exemption to remove the public health mandated masks. For themselves and everyone else.

The letter submitted to the government is filled with incorrect and inaccurate statements about mask usage. And makes reference to god protecting them.

This is the confrontation of Dominionist faith and secular reality. This community wrongly believes the virus to be much less deadly than its well documented to be. They believe children are largely unaffected & they believe masks restrict oxygen saturation levels. (They don’t).

Religious freedom can be restricted if it attempts to suppress or hinder others rights and freedoms. Religious freedom is NOT the ability to proclaim certain laws don’t apply to certain religious communities.

But that’s what these parents & community are demanding.

They want exemptions from mask wearing for their children and themselves or they will pull their children from the school. Extortion much?

People are not mandated to wear masks only to protect themselves. They wear them to protect others, like teachers, admin, & janitors.

What this community is asserting is that since they believe god will protect them, all others need to adopt that belief system (contrary to scientific research and evidence), to accommodate their religious freedoms.

An arrogant & hubristic demand.

This is the Dominionist Christian strategy. To assert faith in god and divine intervention as superior to secular law and scientific evidence.

It is the same argument used by pastor Coates at Grace Life Church.

Authority of god vs the authority of government.

This group believes that since god is an omnipotent being, his norms and expectations of citizens (as determined by interpretation of the “inerrant” bible) should outweigh the secular laws of the government.

In case you’re wondering, what this community is requesting is exemption from secular expectations to adhere to the rule of law. They consider their beliefs ungovernable by secular regulations and only answer to god. As interpreted by their church leaders.

They are demanding that their personal faith (aka beliefs and values) be given superior status to secular regulation and scientific evidence that interferes with the practice of their faith.

That’s an elitist expectation and is consistent with the definition of theocracy.

While they seem to be willing to concede some secular regulations are appropriate, like seat belt laws, they demand the authority to determine which regulations they deem appropriate and which impede their belief system. That’s religious entitlement defined. Aka Dominionism.

I’ve been warning this was coming for about 3.5 years. And it’s finally come to be.

Dominionists are asserting their religious faith is the standard to which all laws and regulations be judged.

If their faith is impeded by a regulation, they want the freedom to be exempt.

This applies in many other areas as well. Covid is just a convenient issue to make the argument that religious freedom should surpass all other rights.

If discrimination is supported in their version of the bible, they should be free to discriminate against whomever they want.

If climate change is expected to be resolved by god because he gave Christians the right to control the earth and it’s resources, then they should be exempt from carbon taxes, environmental regulations and the required permits for resource development.

If herd immunity from covid can only be achieved by ensuring 70% or more of the population is vaccinated, they should be exempt from the expectation to vaccinate. Because they trust god will decide their individual fate. Your fate too if they happen to be asymptomatic carriers.

This group of parents has self identified as being very involved in their children’s education and school. They expect and demand the ability to set the standards of school curriculum be consistent with their faith. No computers in the school, no evolution taught in science.

They believe their religious freedom gives them the ability to override curricular requirements for public funding and that they should be directing school administrators & teachers on how the school should be run, not the Peace River School Division. They just pay the salaries.

That understanding was made clear by the expectation that they be allowed to gather in person and without masks to advise and direct the school’s activities.

Their letter to AHS and the school Division is an attempt to consolidate political power.

Kenney and UCP promised them this power. It was one of the platform promises he made. And this community is using covid to claim that power.

Just like this meme for told. The church is exercising its power to control & shape government policy.

This is the method and strategy that Dominionist Christians will use to take over control of government.

CPC convention affirmed the Dominionist Christian base is in control of the federal party. And in Alberta, about 75% of MLAs are Dominionist Christians.

We are heading into wave 3 because our inept premier and Health Minister refused to impose appropriate restrictions with the new variants. That gives the UCP unlimited power to alter legislation.

I’m predicting we will see some pandering to Dominionist Christian demands by UCP.

Echoed across the nation by other conservative premiers. If there were ever a better rationale and time for feds to declare a federal emergency and take over vaccinations and the capacity to enforce lockdowns, I can’t think of one.

Otherwise we are looking at years of covid restrictions or conversely removal of all protections and survival of the fittest.

And most Canadians still believe these nuts to be a fringe movement. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Wake up Canada! Wake up Alberta! Dominionists mean to take control of govt.
