What gives people who call themselves inclusive the idea that blocking someone who shares the same policy goals as socialist, but has a completely different worldview than the 20% of the population digs in their heels over any change.

We can’t exterminate the far right. We have to live together. Plurality means learning to live amongst people who don’t share your values. It means learning how to agree to disagree. I have no fondness for conservatives. Centrism is not the problem. A divided electorate is.

The more we focus on our differences, the deeper we drive the wedge between ourselves.

Why are socialists unable to process what plurality and diversity means? Why is this concept so hard for lefties to understand?

What makes socialists believe only they have the answer?

This is getting out of hand.

Why are centrists expected to accept insults and disinformation as gospel? I’m not neoliberal. I’m not conservative. And I’m certainly as anti fascist as they come.

If you can’t accept that the majority of Canadians are centrist, moderates, pragmatists and practical, then what are you trying to achieve?

Anarchy and institutional collapse.

I and most others rational Canadians do NOT want to live in anarchy.

Get that through your thick skull!

Canadians are not socialists. The majority want social democracy. Not democratic socialism. We don’t want an absence of authority. We don’t want roving mobs of sanctimonious self righteous socialists making up the rules as they see fit.

We want the rule of law. We want there to be norms, mores, laws and regulations that govern acceptable behaviour.

Are there fascists attempting to change those norms and laws? Yep.

We need to work together to prevent that from happening.

Not blame each other for failing to reach perfection and utopian bliss.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS UTOPIA. Anarchy is not utopia. It’s anarchy. Chaos and survival of the strongest, most wily, wealthiest, most cunning.

Which is what fascists are promoting.

Does that not register in socialists minds that they happen to be seeking the same anarchy as anarcho-capitalists? Removal of norms and the rule of law?

The absence of a commonly accepted legal code means there are no rules. Meaning the worst among us will behave accordingly.

Are socialists that blind to the meaning of anarchy that they don’t realize they are being manipulated to seek the same outcome as the far right?

Modern fascists don’t seek totalitarian control. They seek anarchy. They want to undermine democratic institutions.

Norms and the legal code are the institutions that maintain peace in a diverse and plural society.

And socialists have the idea that to collapse norms and institutions will allow for new ones to be formed.

It’s like history has been entirely forgotten by progressives. Have you never read up on social revolutions? The state of anarchy is chaos. Jostling for power and control. It’s violent and destructive. The most vulnerable get hurt the most.

So no. I don’t support destroying our norms (centrism and moderation). What I do support discrediting is fascism, anarchy, predatory capitalism, mob justice vs rule of law.

And stereotyping those who are moderates as the problem that needs to be destroyed.

Are socialists that dumb that they don’t realize if they destroy centrism, there is only fascism and socialism left to battle it out? It very rarely lands in socialism’s favour when centrists are eviscerated.

It’s centrist’s laws that protect socialists from being exterminated.

Or have you learned nothing from WW2?

Who did Nazis exterminate first? Communists and socialists. Not the Jews and not the centrist moderates. It was the socialists they rounded up and shipped off to concentration camps first. Because institutions had collapsed. Laws removed.

Honestly, this is written in black and white in several history books. Nazis use the far left to create impossible division between centrists and socialists. Divide and conquer. Then eliminate those who refuse to respond to their authority. The dissenters.

And who are the ones least likely to seek self preservation in order to loudly proclaim their virtues and values? Yeah, it’s the socialists and communists. Which is why they are always first on the list to be exterminated.

There is an famous quote by Martin Niemöller. You’d think socialists would take heed. Maybe try not to repeat history? Nope. Hell bent on proving anarchy is the worst option right now.

You destroy centrism, you destroy the laws that protect you from being first on the list to be destroyed. Centrists are predictably and ridiculously pragmatic. That I can accept as truth.

Moderates don’t want to sacrifice themselves to assist people who verbally eviscerated them immediately before handing power to the worst of the worst of humanity.

I guess we are kind of sensitive about being blamed for fascist uprising when we aim to maintain norms.

Call us centrists weird and quirky, but we don’t appreciate being labelled the problem and then expected to rescue those that helped bring down rule of law.

Stop blaming centrists for fascism. It’s not us helping the fascists destroy social democracy. Take a look in the mirror.

It’s socialists being manipulated by reflexive control. Not centrists.

Take responsibility for your own foolish behaviour and quit blaming centrists for your lack of judgement.
