Our administration has recorded significant progress in making Ekiti the preferred destination to live, work, and play. I am pleased to announce that our state has been selected as the host of the 2021 edition of the National Arts Festival (#NAFEST) to be held later in the year.
Ekiti is beautiful. Our knowledgeable people are #hospitable, we have the most breathtaking scenery, our pounded yam is legendary, and we celebrate our #cultural heritage.
Our #investments in infrastructure and security has attracted an increasing number of players in the #hospitality sector, as well as individuals and organisations who regularly come for holidays, retreats, and conferences.
#NAFEST attracts participants from across the country and is one of the greatest platforms for the celebration of our culture, and for forging national unity. The festival will be held under very strict #COVID19 protocols.
Earlier today, together with the Director General of @ncac_nigeria, Otunba Segun Runsewe, I inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of #NAFEST2021. We look forward to working with @ncac_nigeria, LOC, and other stakeholders towards delivering a great festival.

On #EndSARS Protest: an APPEAL FOR PEACE IN EKITI STATE AND THE SOUTH-WEST.
Ekiti Kete, I address you today in respect of the current security situation in our State, south-west zone and Nigeria as a whole which has necessitated the imposition of curfew.
The events of the last one week has been deeply troubling and of a great concern to me and many patriotic citizens of our dear State.
You would recall that on October 9, 2020, some concerned youths organised what was clearly a peaceful protest in Ado-Ekiti, ..
...just like their counterparts in other parts of Nigeria. The protest was commendably peaceful and their demand was justified.
I would like to take some time out to pay tribute to a friend and comrade who I just learnt passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 – Phillip Ilenbarenemen @IlenPhilipfacebook.com/16361949034864…
The loss of Phillip at this time came as a shock, and deeply saddened me in a week we had begun to have some joy with the traction we have recorded in the battle against #COVID19 in Ekiti state.
This week we had the second positive case successfully treated and discharged from our isolation centre, and our palliative measures to bring relief to our people in this difficult time commenced in earnest.
Ekiti-kete, it is exactly one year today, that I took the oath of office as the sixth (6th) democratically elected governor of our dear State, Ekiti. /1
You laid the path for a new beginning in Ekiti State on July 14, 2018 when you freely elected me as your Governor but your journey of faith with me started, for the second term, on Thursday, October 16, 2018. Today marks the first anniversary of the journey. /2
First anniversary of the day we all heaved a sigh of relief. The day that marked the beginning of values, dignity and honour restoration. The day that further consolidated our democracy and opened a new chapter in the practice of good governance in Ekiti State. /3
