It was a real delight to perform the official commissioning of Ekiti Agro-Allied Cargo and Passenger Airport, another legacy project of our administration. This Airport was established to stimulate the economy and by extension the growth of Ekiti State. This Airport is of a world-class standard. Being a category 4E airport, this means we can accommodate large cargo – Aircrafts. The Cargo Apron 155m x 128m can conveniently accommodate two 747-400. The passenger apron 137m x 100.5m can also accommodate three Boeing 737.

Last year, we commenced the construction of a Geospatial Data Centre in Ado-Ekiti to interlink the people and strengthen data collection, land administration, infrastructure and workforce in Ekiti State.

I am delighted to announce that we have commissioned this critical project. This Centre has a technical workstation center, electronic file treatment center, capturing room, GIS office, a data transmitter section, and a GIS digital laboratory. One of its major priority areas would be to develop geospatial data, process, store & disseminate data on land.

In 2012, when I lost my mother, I promised that the Government of Ekiti State will build an Elderly Peoples’ Resort and Wellness Centre. In this, I soon discovered a coincidence of interest with the Council of Elders in the state. That promise could not be fulfilled before my exit in 2014. As soon as I returned in 2018, I teamed up with the leadership of the Ekiti Elders’ Council and we sought their input in the design of the project.

Yinka is one of the longest serving members of my team, and a very dependable ally and aburo. Before he joined us, he had earned a solid reputation and excellent track record as a journalist. We have come a long way since I invited Yinka to join our team, and he has consistently demonstrated the finest values of professionalism, loyalty, diligence, and excellence.

Today, I met with the Chief of Defence Space Administration (DSA), Rear Admiral Williams Kayoda on the proposed establishment of the Nigeria Space Communications Satellite Centre in Ekiti State. This project complements the Ekiti Knowledge Zone initiative (EKZ). Our administration conceived the #EKZ to take advantage of technology for #scientific research, industrialisation, and #innovation.

This afternoon, I met with the three indigenes of Ekiti State who were recently honoured with the Presidential Award for @officialnyscng Corps members. I am glad that in their various Places of Primary Assignment (PPA) they demonstrated #leadership, #compassion, and #diligence... - values that define us as Ekiti people.

These young people went beyond the call of duty and made us proud. Kolawole Toba Gabriel focused on maternal and child #mortality, and helped to address questions of #poverty that contribute to high mortality rates in Adamawa State.

Our administration has recorded significant progress in making Ekiti the preferred destination to live, work, and play. I am pleased to announce that our state has been selected as the host of the 2021 edition of the National Arts Festival (#NAFEST) to be held later in the year. Ekiti is beautiful. Our knowledgeable people are #hospitable, we have the most breathtaking scenery, our pounded yam is legendary, and we celebrate our #cultural heritage.

On #EndSARS Protest: an APPEAL FOR PEACE IN EKITI STATE AND THE SOUTH-WEST.

Ekiti Kete, I address you today in respect of the current security situation in our State, south-west zone and Nigeria as a whole which has necessitated the imposition of curfew. The events of the last one week has been deeply troubling and of a great concern to me and many patriotic citizens of our dear State.

Ekiti-kete, it is exactly one year today, that I took the oath of office as the sixth (6th) democratically elected governor of our dear State, Ekiti. /1 You laid the path for a new beginning in Ekiti State on July 14, 2018 when you freely elected me as your Governor but your journey of faith with me started, for the second term, on Thursday, October 16, 2018.
