BREAKING—@CDCDirector has now walked back and recanted her controversial statement that vaccinated cannot ever get infected / transmit the virus.

I predicted exactly this was going to happen 2 days ago, the day it aired.

2) Here is what happened 2 days ago... the statement is inaccurate. People can transmit.
3) although she didn’t say never/ever, It upset me also because the phrasing implied that. And it also gave right wingers like Rand Paul ammo for his nonsense when he argued with Fauci.
4) To be clear you are still protected. 100% against death / near 95-100% for severe disease, but not 100% for any infection (mild symptoms or asymptomatic). Nuance is key. nytimes.com/2021/04/01/hea…
5) Here is the data on asymptomatic transmission with the vaccines. It’s good but not 100%. And that’s why we still mask. Stay safe my friends.

3) The wastewater pools at the now abandoned Piney Point fertilizer factory is long considered one of the “one of the biggest environmental threats in Florida history.”
