Words matter.
Cults are real and all around us.
They seek to control and manipulate members, break bonds, isolate people from friends and family, destroy the individuals faith in themselves, and to be an unchallengeable fountain of “truth” that their adherents never question.

In every way, Roam seeks to do and be the opposite of all those things.
But the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves matter - and jokes are often most funny when they are half true

Whether we like it or not, reality is today that as social animals, people have a tendency for conformity and to punish those who don’t conform.

Sometimes the questions that you are trying to answer, or answers you are trying to live out in practice relate to how we organize ourselves and relate to one another.
ESPECIALLY then - it is a huge relief to find other people who share your uncommon perspective of the world.

I have a huge amount of respect for anyone who is honestly seeking to help the universe unlock its secrets

Sometimes - this is because the nascent group has all those negative patterns mentioned above.
Sometimes we just dislike whatever we don’t understand.

All this to say - I’ve had a sort of “sympathy for the devil” and skepticism of OFFICIAL narratives since I read “The True Story of The Three Little Pigs” in kindergarten and fell in love with wolves.
But even as a joke, I’m dropping “cult leader” from my personal narrative.
