#NHS privatisation started decades ago.
Mid-2000 reforms to GP contract hived off Out-of-hours care to private sector and de-coupled running NHS primary care from being NHS GP. No longer did GPs have to see patients to earn an income. Instead they could employ salaried GPs 4/13

at lower cost and pocket the surplus. The moral high ground vacated resulting in two-tier GP doctor workforce with 'entrepreneurial' GPs freed up to cash-in on further opportunities from privatisation while exploiting their colleagues, take post on Clinical Commissioning 5/13

Groups (CCGs) created by McKinsey/Lansley 2012 Health Act. CCGs replicated private health insurance funding pools & facilitated cuts & closures of hospital services with some GPs awarding themselves contracts to run substitute services. 6/13

There have been multiple top-down reforms fragmenting & outsourcing #NHS also in Five Year Forward View 2014 & NHS Long Term Plan 2019 by #SimonStevens formerly Pres. GLOBAL EXPANSION for #UnitedHealth America's largest private health insurer. Themes include down-skilling 7/13

replacing doctors with non-doctors, telemedicine barriers, hospital closures & incentivising DENIAL OF CARE in the #PrimaryCareNetwork contract railroaded through on behalf of gov't by @TheBMA on unsuspecting GPs. All goals accelerated during #pandemic

I do agree it would be electoral suicide to admit to destroy #NHS hence the lies are so important.
