Adrian Dix going through hospital capacity now. In acute care the capacity is at 89.5% with 985 vacant beds. Wen you count surge there are 3,416 vacant beds.

Dix says on April 1 188,000 doses of AstraZeneca arrived in BC of 203,000 that were expected. These doses are being distributed in Metro Van and in other areas by Thursday. Details on what pharmacies coming soon. #bcpoli

On the P1 being linked the the Canucks, Dr. Bonnie Henry says she is not aware of this. Says the virus can break through even when testing and other barriers are in place. "This is a reminder the virus can spread very quickly." #bcpoli
On adapting to the virus, Dr. Henry says the measures are in 'place that we know will work'. Says the rules will be the same and people just need to follow them. "We had complacency." #bcpoli
On closing schools, Dr. Henry says 'of course we have talked about that'. Says cases up up when children are NOT in school. "Children need school. We know it is a safe place for them." #bced #bcpoli
On vaccinating younger front line workers and diverting Pfizer and Moderna, Dr. Henry says all of long higher risk work places have been targeted. #bcpoli
On whether the province is minimizing the variant and being reactive, Dr. Henry says everything is being treated as if it is a variant. "People are having more contacts now then they were a month ago." #bcpoli
On closing schools in hot zones like in Ontario, Dr. Henry says the highest risk in community is in Surrey. Says that is where BC has taken the greatest precautions. #bcpoli
