When the presser started yesterday, I thought, “This is it. We’re going to take action.” Because let’s be real, things are bad. Very bad. You’ve seen the numbers. We’re watching idly by as variants become dominant. This is not a good place to be. @UCPCaucus #ableg #COVID19AB

But alas, @jkenney fell short of actual leadership like he’s done so many times before, implementing half measures to save livelihoods, not lives. When he lamented that we are reaching immunity in part b/c of the amount of people who have been infected? 🤦🏻‍♀️ #ableg #COVID19AB

IMHO, 7-12 classes should’ve been put online yesterday. They’re old enough. It’s not ideal, but it would’ve helped! Hinshaw keeps saying spread is happening everywhere and it’s difficult to pin down. 🤔 But one place we know it’s consistent is schools! #ableg #COVID19AB

You know what else? The restaurants you are closing and the retail stores and gyms that you limited capacity for are going to suffer even longer! Because what measures you have put in place will make no difference without considering schools! #abed #ableg #COVID19AB @jkenney

Kids are going to contract Covid more readily in schools with B117 and P1 and they are going to bring these home to their families. Parents will become ill. Families will become ill. Lives and livelihoods, hey? #ableg #COVID19AB @jkenney

And can we talk about teachers for a second...teachers?! Unvaccinated, air sharing teachers. Elementary teachers in classrooms with unmasked children. High school teachers seeing hundreds of kids a day. #abed #ableg #COVID19AB @jkenney

Why in the world have teachers not been prioritized? I share indoor air with 80 kids a week, 24 (unmasked at lunch). I know teachers who are on their 5th & 6th isolations of the school year. I know teachers who have contracted #COVID19AB variants from kids. #abed #ableg @jkenney

And yet, we aren’t even anywhere on a vaccine list. Does a teacher have to die before you act? Is that where we’re at? Teachers love what we do, but no one is ready to die because you decided we weren’t a priority. My kids need their mom. #abed #ableg #COVID19AB @jkenney

And no, I don’t think I deserve a vaccine more than anyone else. The fact that there are docs & nurses & healthcare pros in AB that haven’t been vaccinated is *atrocious*. I just know my level of exposure. I know how much air we share. Teachers need vaccines!#ableg #abed @jkenney

If you actually cared about lives and livelihoods @jkenney, you’d make choices to squash #COVID19AB once & for all. You’d save lives & we’d get the economy back on track sooner. Why is this so hard for you to understand? Maybe your private school education? 🤷🏻‍♀️ #ableg #RealTalkRJ
