People are being scammed by crooks because they are being deceived by cloned investment sites, advertised mostly on Google, but to a lesser degree on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin. They think they are accessing a legitimate investment company. Sadly for many they are not 2/
Google could fix this problem literally tomorrow:
they simply need to verify the advertiser before taking their money. It would cost. But then again in 2019 the parent company allegedly made $89 Billion profit 3/

And they already accept they have to do this: indeed they announced it on 23/4/20. Read their own promotion ... although they have not brought this in yet 4/

I want to stop pensioners and savers being deceived: we have banned cold calling and brought in protections on pension transfers, but if what you read online is too good to be true it probably is. Please be v careful. Helpful warnings from @thetimes article below 5/ 
My thanks for all the support in persuading @Google, and others in tech, to be responsible companies. The leading article in the @thetimes sums things up. As one MP in @HouseofCommons pointed out to me the company motto of Google’s is: “Do the right thing”
