Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, Justice Indira Banerjee, Justice S Ravindra Bhat, Justice Aniruddha Bose and Calcutta HC Chief Justice
T B N Radhakrishnan releases the Bengali version of "The Courts of India- Past to Present"

CJI: It is a great delight for me to release the Bengali translation of Courts of India. It is eminently fitting that the book is translated to Bengali. Bengali is a rich language. History of courts under British began in Bengal.
CJI: Bengali has contributed to law and great judges. From Justice PB Chakaraborty to Justice Altamas Kabir who became the CJI. The names of great advocates are legendary too
CJI: Bengal has made great contributions legally, academically, culturally and with respect to heritage. Since Vedic times India had its own indigenous dispute resolution system even before English, Portuguese or Dutch came in
CJI: History of courts in India is of tremendous interest but there was no book in the library for this. With this background we started working on this book. Justice Bhat was the first one I discussed this project with. This book is about pre constitution and post constitution
CJI: I am very happy about the remark made by Justice Venkatachaliah when this book was first released in English. He had told me that this is a book which is twice as good as the American book. It was very heartening because he said soon after release function
CJI: The book being in English was a self imposed limitation. Most of us who are familiar with English cannot imagine this was a limitation. There are many people who do not prefer English and read something in vernacular. It is then we decided to translate this book
CJI: we speak many languages and there is no doubt that after we release many translations the readership increased exponentially.
CJI: We translated it to Assamese, Marathi, Kannada and now in Bengali. I say with great happiness that Gurumukhi and Sanskrit version is in final stage. We have also begun translation in Tamil and Malayalam
CJI: I am proud to be associated with Courts of India. One associated with administration of justice, lawyers, scholars and academics, will all enjoy reading this in Bengali
CJI: There is a need to acknowledge the herculean efforts put in by translator Justice Abhishek Rath, Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Ravindra Bhat who were in the editorial team.

Thank you. Jai Hind.

Gupta gives reasons why bail should be granted.

1. Both the FIRs contain identical offences.
2. Bail ought to be granted in second FIR as well.
3. Within a few hours of getting bail in first FIR, I was arrested for the second FIR in a malafide manner

#DeepSidhu #FarmersProtests
Sidhu has been in custody for more than 75 days. Both FIRs relate to same incident; registration of second FIR is an abuse of process: Gupta
