Why I bought this Stock which was making so much negative news w/its vaccine ? #StockMarket#Investing
#AstraZeneca is ranked 12th in the world & has a market cap of 100.57B. They have a huge portfolio of drugs to treat diabetes, cancer & respiratory problems. 1/5 #ASTRAZEN
So I had the belief that few issues with covid vaccine might not work negatively for a company which had such high profile drugs in its kitty.
On 4th jan 2021, #ASTRAZEN made a high of 4910 & it slowly started retracing. 2/5
This was when #Covid vaccine was out after all trials & approvals. But in Europe & other places there were cases of unusual blood clots w/the vaccine & naturally the stock started falling. On 9th feb, stock was trading at 3745 & it caught my attention. Support identified 👇3/5
As per charts I saw 3090-3300 as supports & we waited for the same. I felt by the time it reaches the said support, the negativity around the vaccine if anything would be already factored. On 24th feb, our said supports came which is actually 32% below all time highs. 4/5
The stock went to lower band of our support & made a low of 3005 on 31st mar'21.
After that, stock has recovered beautifully & today made a high of 4500(40%). Expecting the nxt move technically once price closes above 4700 on wkly basis.#VirginPriceAction ROCKS 🙏 5/5
Not sure how many of you remember there was a Detergent bar called #501 from the house of #TATAS.
It had a bright yellow packaging. #Thread#Investing#Finance (1/4)
It was A Tomco (Tata Oil Mills) brand those days. It was named 501 because Tomco chief Jal Naoroji, a nationalist, felt it could do one better than a soap called ‘500’ which existed abroad. The soap was also priced right for the masses at Rs.10/100cakes. 2/4
Later the levers brand wanted to kill the Indian brand & priced their brand below cost which was Rs.6/100 cakes. Jal naoroji didnt bother & waited but in just 3months, the lever company raised their price as they could no longer continue selling below cost. 3/4
She managed to amass a $9.2m fortune whilst spending her entire 67 year-long career as a legal secretary. @dmuthuk#Investing#Thread 1/8
Even her closest friends and relatives had no idea she had amassed such a sum, until, upon her death in 2016, her will provided for $8.2m in donations to various charities for needy children. 2/8
But how did she accumulate such a massive pot for someone who never earned more than a secretary’s salary? By all accounts, she was a frugal person, living in a rent-controlled apartment in New York and avoiding all trappings that come with wealth. 3/8
This is the motivating story of Billionaire founder of #FedEx. Born in 1944, Fred Smith is crippled by a bone disease as a small boy & watches sports from the sidelines. Regains his health by age 10, becomes an excellent #football player & learns to fly at 15. (2/8)
Fred smith was in yale university & had an idea of overnight delivery service which was reliable. He had a great plan & wrote down the idea in great detail & presented the same to his professor. His professor gave him a 'C" for his submission. 3/8
