I just ran over a turtle with the lawn mower ) i did not see it) while cutting some tall grass. It is missing a chunk from the top part of its shell, there is some blood. The turtle is moving and reacting when I get close. What do I do to save it?
Update: cleaned the wound, put masking tape over it , looked for the missing shell with no luck. My stateโs DNR are going to call back with a location to drop it off.
Btw: I still have the baby ones I found in the driveway two weeks ago. DNR said to release them in one more week. I ll make sure they are down in the creek and not on my property 
Update on the turtle I accidentally ran the lawnmower over. It is still alive. I made a temporary shell to keep the wound clean out of a bowl and spray insulation foam. The earliest I can drop it off to be looked at is tomorrow at 8 am
