#BidenIsATyrant

I posted a tiny, little ditty I wrote and recorded yesterday. Here it is again. Plus, a friend of mine asked for verses, so I wrote the following 3 last night. Not ready to record the full song, but the new lyrics follow...
2) First Verse:

I truly love my Mr. Xi
He gives me lots of money
And we both agree on
How much we hate Don
3) Second Verse:

I smell the hair on girls
And I do it round the world
Because you know I can, man
You really know I can, man
4) Third Verse:

Once there was a vote
I had no chance to win
So I stole the election
And now you need protection
5) As I'm not ready to record and share the full song. Here's a little of its flavor for you to imagine. The song starts and end with the chorus, so it's 4 choruses and 3 verses.
6) I modulate from the key of C Major for choruses, to the key A Minor for the verses, and use a very simple, similar melody shape. The choruses mostly ascends in pitch, the verses mostly descend. Most changes are 3rds, with a few 2nds, etc. There are 5 chords, C, F, G, Am, Em.
7) During the day, yesterday, working on just the chorus - I had no intention of writing a full song - took me about 10 minutes to write, record and post. The verses required about 2 hours to bring into form.
8) Why do I share all that technical stuff? Several reasons. I am absolutely passionate about music theory, and hope to show you how much fun it is, and how it helps a musician get stuff done.
9) I detest how we have stolen our children's birthright by removing music education from our schools. Also, we have almost completely lost the aspect of parenting where children learn to sing and play instruments in the home, with their families.
10) Anyone can learn to sing and play, at any point in life. Everyone who can speak, can sing. We know how to teach this. A small amount of work will empower you to lift your voice in song if you only give over and stop believing you can't. You can!
11) Last point. Throughout his book, Sharp teaches us to take our power back from our dictators and tyrants. Throughout history, song has been one of the most important aspects in freedom's progress.
12) In Psalm 58:17, King David expresses: "I will lift my voice to sing Your praise, O my Strength—for You came to my defense."

And I say it is time we lifted up our voices as we fight to win back our stolen freedoms.
Thread ends at #12.

If you come join us at Telegram, we’ll help you learn and sing, or write and sing the song of freedom.

Correction: In number 12 above, the verse is Psalm 59:17, NOT 58:17.

#FromDictatorshipToDemocracy – Concluding Chapter 3

Sharp doesn't say this, but I believe it's right here in these concluding pages. Truth is a social function. We do know this from psychological testing. It's kind of amazing. I'll explain... ImageImage
2) As I recall from college, psychologists decided to test what it takes to make someone doubt what they know to be true. So the created an experiment where there were 5 or 6 actors and 1 person being tested. We'll call the person be tested by the name X.
3) All the actors in the test were instructed to tell an absolute lie, 100% false, something like 1 + 1 = 3. The group leader would then put up the question:

What does 1 + 1 equal?

Actors 1 - 5 would all confidently and obviously answer 3.

Multiple Media To Engage The Text

I noted this key thought on the 24th, but today is the first time I've posted the image below as I so often do. The thing is, I discovered a new kind of problem to solve which I'll explain more below... Image
2) Here's the problem. I can't mark up the entire page, yet this page is one of the most powerful in the entire book and its every thought is critical for our mission.

What to do?
3) It hit me - and a good friend of mine has been pushing me in this direction - that reading the page out loud would serve our purposes in this essay very nicely indeed. Some of you may have noticed I just did a bit of testing of that method and it seemed to go well enough.

When an author breaks his reader!

This is where we left off, yesterday, after just 8 tweets in my thread, on page 33 of From Dictatorship To Democracy by Gene Sharp, book number 4 on my list.
2) There's a small story from yesterday morning I've decided to share today. Re-reading the list from the section: Centers of democratic power, broke me. Not as in completely! But analytically. The reality of Sharp's point was larger than my mind could handle.
3) No, it didn't help that I had a huge coaching day encroaching, but time limits was not the problem. Mind limits was. Two passages from the New Testament exploded in my mind, and exploded my mind itself. There were Luke 14 and John 6.

FDTD – Chapter 3: Whence Comes the Power – Part 3

We won't have time to get today's analysis done in the morning. I hate that, but I will get it done later today. Diving in, we have two of the hardest passages of the New Testament to contemplate.
2) Here's a single verse to capture the horrendous point:

Luke 14: 26

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
3) If I have the time, later today, I'll look up this verse in Strong's Concordance and find the Greek or Aramaic word translated into the term "hate." Turning to the original language always helps. But, simply hearing it in King James English matters, also.

FDTD – Chapter 3: Whence Comes the Power – Part 2

Although I knew it before, I learned all over again this morning why authors so often write their books sitting inside a fabulous library somewhere. I spend a lot of money on books but NOT this much!
2) Today's essay is constructed around Sharp's footnote numbers 8, 9, & 10. The bad news is that I was unable to find either free online PDFs or inexpensive copies of Deutsch or Machiavelli. The good news is I found a $1.20 version of Austin!
3) Sometimes, just having the paragraph before and the paragraph following a given quote transforms your understanding of the quote itself. It's more than just context, it's also momentum. What is the author's real goal, his destination? What are his values and assumptions?

FDTD – Chapter 3: Whence Comes the Power?

Once again, I'd change the Chapter title. I'd put "cometh" in place of "comes." For those who believe in Divine Law, power cometh from God. Nice King James feel, right? And what a question! ImageImageImageImage
2) I haven't decided yet if I can get away with just one essay on this chapter, or if more may be needed. I can tell you this, you WANT to read along with me. Sharp is a strategic writer, and this chapter is a strategic turning point in the book.
3) While I read this chapter the 1st time some weeks back, I wasn't surprised but I was pleased that Sharp quotes my man Machiavelli. This is positively (maybe even dispositively) Sharp's true Machiavellian chapter. Had to look that up. Dispositive means settled, not in dispute.
