#FromDictatorshipToDemocracy – Concluding Chapter 3

Sharp doesn't say this, but I believe it's right here in these concluding pages. Truth is a social function. We do know this from psychological testing. It's kind of amazing. I'll explain...
2) As I recall from college, psychologists decided to test what it takes to make someone doubt what they know to be true. So the created an experiment where there were 5 or 6 actors and 1 person being tested. We'll call the person be tested by the name X.
3) All the actors in the test were instructed to tell an absolute lie, 100% false, something like 1 + 1 = 3. The group leader would then put up the question:

What does 1 + 1 equal?

Actors 1 - 5 would all confidently and obviously answer 3.
4) Following all the actors, X would then be called upon last. In the vast majority of cases X ended up, after an obvious struggle answering 3 as well. Again, as I recall it, the most interesting part of the study was the interview afterwards.
5) The first aspect of that interview was to explore the effect of cognitive dissonance. X of course knew the correct answer to be 2, but with everyone else saying 3, it literally caused X to question his own knowledge. It is that self-questioning that we need to look at.
6) The left has organized, it has perfected the process of organizing lies. It employs lying liars, trained in the arts of deceit and leverages their voices by means of media, both traditional and social media such as right here at Twitter.
7) From the Access Hollywood tapes in the 2016 campaign through the entirety of Trump's administration they worked on their psychological operations capabilities. They always failed until COVID. That in place, they amplified their polling deceit capability and that too succeeded.
8) With COVID and polling ops successful, they were ready to steal the election but were still at risk of being defeated yet again. We have to nuance this just a bit. Each of their ops did succeed with their own people, and that really does count. We need to count it.
9) From the moment of the @GenFlynn attack, through the entire Mueller Investigation and Russia Hoax, into the Impeachment Trial and then mounting into COVID and the election, they won more and more certainty in their own peoples' hearts every time. That is truly important.
10) Let's imagine that "their own people" comprise about 40% of our population. Their own operations controlling the perceptions of those millions need not require more than, I'll guess, 100,000 actors, and most of those believe what they say also.
11) We arrive at the current operation. It hinges on January 6, 2021. 1 + 1 = 3 in that Trump led an insurrection. They have their entire apparatus behind that complete lie. Glance at any trend on Twitter and you'll see it, instantly.
12) Sharp tells us that our social centers of power "will be part of the indispensable structural base for a free society." We're in that future moment right now. Let's go back to the psych test I mentioned above. I have an alteration to propose.
13) It's possible that the testers did do this, but if so, I do not recall learning about it back then. My idea is to have actor number 6, the last person before X is asked the question, literally stand up and say something like...
14) "I have no idea what drugs you all were taking before we started, but 1 + 1 DOES NOT EQUAL 3. For goodness sake, EVERYONE KNOWS that it equals 2. I don't know why kind of joke you're all playing but it disgusts me.

"1 + 1 = 2.

"Harrumph."
15) I think just about everyone in the X spot in these tests would then happily state the correct answer, 2, loudly and with great pleasure. I also bet X would admit to cognitive dissonance until actor 6 cleared the air. If it hasn't been, my test protocol should be employed!
16) Sharp tells us that these centers of power must enjoy "continued independence and growth" as a "prerequisite for the success of the liberation struggle." As X needs actor 6's interposition, we need these institutions for our own sanity and safety of truth grasp.
17) I hate to list out the left's many recent PSYOP victories, but as truth is truth, victorious lies and lying must be confronted. It was perhaps the single most important part of their PSYOP to turn FOX News against Trump, and against MAGA.
18) Listen again to Sharp: "If the dictatorship has been largely successful in destroying or controlling the society's independent bodies, it will be important for the resisters to create NEW INDEPENDENT SOCIAL GROUPS AND INSTITUTIONS...{caps added}...
19) "...or to reassert democratic control over surviving or partially controlled bodies."

I have no problem reiterating how in awe of Sharp's insights I remain. He wrote those words in 1993. 28 years later we're living them.
20) Please turn back with me to page 33. You can do more than just contemplate the 13 types of bodies Sharp lists. You can both apply that list to your life as well as add to it the many organizations that you participate in, one way or another, yourself.
21) As you make your own real-world list, keep in mind that we must regain control over them, or create then anew. Our struggle for freedom demands we think bigger thoughts than just our own, about ourselves in isolation.
22) Were George Washington to have fought the Redcoats all by himself, he wouldn't have lasted 20 minutes. Our Revolution demanded the Continental Army and so much more. It required the full faith and support of a Revolutionary population.
23) Mao Tse Tung led a 29-year revolution in China. The only way they survived, let alone eventually won, was to constantly seek the friendship and approval of the population. Great a war leader as he was, he could never have done it without his society's full support.
24) Here's where Sharp ends this chapter: "The above insight does mean, however, that the deliberate disintegration of dictatorships is possible." And how is it possible? They are "highly vulnerable to skillfully implemented POLITICAL DEFIANCE. {caps added}"
25) Trump is still our leader. This video was taken Wednesday, 4/28/21, at Mar-A-Lago. He tells us:

“Now let’s see what they find... you’ll watch Pennsylvania...Georgia... Michigan... Wisconsin...New Hampshire. They found a lot of votes up in New Hampshire JUST NOW...”
26) "This was a rigged election. Everybody knows it."

This is the truth we need actor 6 to stand up and express. This is the truth that we must express clearly and simply to others. It was a landslide victory for Trump. It was stolen outright. And...

#BidenIsATyrent
27) For your consideration, here's another way to make these points. Whenever two or more people agree to lie, it is a conspiracy. If you fail to realize that conspiracies have come to dominate our political life, you will not be able to ascertain the truth.
28) You might continue, I believe that the greatest conspiracy in the history of the US was the theft of the landslide election victory that Trump won last November. And he led no insurrection whatsoever on January 6. Quite the contrary, he led a lawful, peaceful protest.
29) Next the election theft, the conspiracy to falsely accuse Trump of insurrection is the second greatest we have ever suffered. Well, they're two parts of one whole. You don't have to agree with me, of course. But you would be wise to imagine I might be right.
30) Friends, I'm telling you that Sharp has led us to the point of action. We must speak the truth. We must regain or recreate our institutions and organizations so that, like our now beloved actor 6, they speak the truth for us too.

#FromDictatorshipToDemocracy – Chapter 4: Dictatorships have Weaknesses – Introduction

In today's short meditation leading into our study of Chapter 4, we're going to follow just one idea around a bit...

#DictatorsCanBeOverburdened
2) We have just completed Usurper Biden's 1st 100 days. This dictatorship is still very new, at least under his aegis. However, all its powers and infiltration throughout our society is almost ancient at this point. He holds no new powers.
3) What's more, it is critical that we remember we won 2016 handily, and we won a massive reelection landslide in 2020. This forced the dictatorship to expose its own weaknesses as never before. Truth is, this is not a new Biden Dictatorship, it is an old Swamp Dictatorship.

Multiple Media To Engage The Text

I noted this key thought on the 24th, but today is the first time I've posted the image below as I so often do. The thing is, I discovered a new kind of problem to solve which I'll explain more below...
2) Here's the problem. I can't mark up the entire page, yet this page is one of the most powerful in the entire book and its every thought is critical for our mission.

What to do?
3) It hit me - and a good friend of mine has been pushing me in this direction - that reading the page out loud would serve our purposes in this essay very nicely indeed. Some of you may have noticed I just did a bit of testing of that method and it seemed to go well enough.

#BidenIsATyrant

I posted a tiny, little ditty I wrote and recorded yesterday. Here it is again. Plus, a friend of mine asked for verses, so I wrote the following 3 last night. Not ready to record the full song, but the new lyrics follow...
2) First Verse:

I truly love my Mr. Xi
He gives me lots of money
And we both agree on
How much we hate Don
3) Second Verse:

I smell the hair on girls
And I do it round the world
Because you know I can, man
You really know I can, man

When an author breaks his reader!

This is where we left off, yesterday, after just 8 tweets in my thread, on page 33 of From Dictatorship To Democracy by Gene Sharp, book number 4 on my list.
2) There's a small story from yesterday morning I've decided to share today. Re-reading the list from the section: Centers of democratic power, broke me. Not as in completely! But analytically. The reality of Sharp's point was larger than my mind could handle.
3) No, it didn't help that I had a huge coaching day encroaching, but time limits was not the problem. Mind limits was. Two passages from the New Testament exploded in my mind, and exploded my mind itself. There were Luke 14 and John 6.

FDTD – Chapter 3: Whence Comes the Power – Part 3

We won't have time to get today's analysis done in the morning. I hate that, but I will get it done later today. Diving in, we have two of the hardest passages of the New Testament to contemplate.
2) Here's a single verse to capture the horrendous point:

Luke 14: 26

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
3) If I have the time, later today, I'll look up this verse in Strong's Concordance and find the Greek or Aramaic word translated into the term "hate." Turning to the original language always helps. But, simply hearing it in King James English matters, also.

FDTD – Chapter 3: Whence Comes the Power – Part 2

Although I knew it before, I learned all over again this morning why authors so often write their books sitting inside a fabulous library somewhere. I spend a lot of money on books but NOT this much!
2) Today's essay is constructed around Sharp's footnote numbers 8, 9, & 10. The bad news is that I was unable to find either free online PDFs or inexpensive copies of Deutsch or Machiavelli. The good news is I found a $1.20 version of Austin!
3) Sometimes, just having the paragraph before and the paragraph following a given quote transforms your understanding of the quote itself. It's more than just context, it's also momentum. What is the author's real goal, his destination? What are his values and assumptions?
