"Abounding" means existing in Thanksgiving.
It is essential for a Believer to have an attitude of Thanksgiving ALL THE TIME (1 Thessalonians 5:16).
We are to give thanks to God in "ALL THINGS" #Thanksliving is a consistent (and continous) attitude of Thanksgiving. It is being conscious of the benefits you receive. Thankfulness is the soil on which joy and peace thrive.
We are not to live in denial of the situations we are faced with, but thanking God despite the situations (Psalm 23:4). Matthew 26:39 - a grateful heart is a true test of submission, especially in times of hardship.
Why #thanksliving?
- it is a command (Colossians 2:7, 3:15, 4:2). Create enormous time for Thanksgiving. It shows total acknowledgment of what he's done, doing and will yet do.
- it shifts our attention to God for all our achievements (Ephesians 5:18)
When #thanksliving?
- it should be always (Ephesians 5:18). You can store-up Thanksgiving same way you store-up prayers.
"Thinking" proceeds "thanking". (John 14:27)
- in any situation (Isaiah 43:2)
What #thanksliving
- for everything He's done for us
Thankfulness arises from the realisation of the generosity and grace of God. #thanksgiving is good but #thanksliving is better.
