It's quite simple really but few know these tricks:
1/ 1 on 1s
The 1 on 1 is where you ask: "What's the status?" ten times.
Don't have difficult conversations here - save it for Slack or a public tweetstorm.
Keep moving your 1:1s with your reports to different times of the week until they give up.
2/ Team meeting
Show up 10 min late to this and play wrestling entrance music when you enter. You're the CEO of the product, after all.
Don't talk about execution in this meeting. Instead, read your latest Substack post live and ask your team why they haven't subscribed yet.
3/ Ad hoc meeting
People love seeing these meetings pop up on their calendars. Make sure you schedule a pre-meeting before the meeting to plan out the agenda.
Next, invite all stakeholders except the decision-maker to the meeting. You'll see democracy play out live that way.
4/ Product review
When you show up to the product review, there will likely be 10 execs in the room. Bring them each a bubble tea to get buy-in early.
Next, walk through your 50-page slide deck and make sure you leave the takeaway slide at the very end for dramatic impact.
5/ OKR meeting
First, call this meeting a "birthday for (exec)" to get attendance.
When the other PMs come, surprise them with a 3-hour OKR meeting and lock the door. The rule is simple - people can't take a bathroom break unless they commit to your dependency.
