If you don't have major dental disorders like gingivitis etc , you can prefer home made simple mouthwash over the cholorohexidine gluconate solution for oral health
Most of store sold mouth wash will carry fine prints discouraging daily use and requires dosage advise too
Some common side effects on prolonged use are minimised taste perception and slight impact sensory nerves on prolonged use
Chemical based mouthwash are big no to Expectant lactating mothers and Under 18

Simple homemade mouthwash can be made by
- 250 ml pure water
- 1-2 tsp of non Iodized sea salt
- 2 cardamom pods crushed
- 2 Cloves handcrushed
- 5-10 Finely chopped mint /Mexican mint leaves
- 1 Spoon of finely chopped fresh lemon peels or powder
Boil these for fifteen minutes at low flame till it condense to 100 ml, strain the contents and allow to cool down for an hour
This has to be consumed the same day and serves two washes
Perfectly fine for elderly, kids and adults
It's advisable to practice as routine after your morning and night brushing
As a general oral health practice you can apply pure coconut oil over your gums and gently massage it with fingers atleast once a week or alternate days
This helps to heal any oral ulcers at early stage itself and strengthen your gums
Further Optional ingredients : Beetel leaves , twak bark, Tender Neem bark& leaves
My grandma who was practicing sustainable living used to make for whole joint family on daily basis
