Here is a summary of today’s #COVID19AB update: Over the last 24hrs, we ID’d 877 new cases & completed nearly 8.1K tests. Our positivity rate is 11.4%. Case numbers are declining, this suggests public health measures are having an impact. But we still have more to do. (1/7)
Hospitalizations remain high at 691 incl 187 in ICU. Sadly, 4 deaths were reported in the last 24hrs. These ppl were loved & will be sorely missed by their family, friends & communities. My sympathies go out to anyone who has lost someone they care about to any cause. (2/7)
We have admin 2.2M+ doses of vaccine & more than 1/2 of ABs 12+ have had at least 1 dose. This is a significant feat & something we should all be proud of. We are getting closer to the end. We need to keep pushing vaccination rates to control spread & safely ease the rules. (3/7)
I know many are wondering when they can receive their 2nd dose: 3-4 weeks after the 1st for profoundly immunocompromised ABs & 3-4 months after 1st for everyone else. (4/7)
1st doses provide good protection & delaying 2nd allows us to vaccinate ABs as quickly as possible – which helps protect us all by reducing community spread. Everyone who wants a vaccine will get one. You won't be missed. (5/7)
It’s important that everyone continue following all the measures in place. While it may be tempting to go visit your grandchildren & give them a hug, or get together inside for a friend’s birthday – those are still not allowed. (6/7)
I know many ppl are eager to get back to normal. Let’s use that as motivation to book a vaccine appt if we have been waiting to do so & motivation to follow the public health measures today so we can end the 3rd wave & prevent more people from getting sick. (7/7)
