Chen said #Taiwan's outbreak is still at its peak and most of the cases can still trace back to its source. He reminded all citizens to be careful again and he is calling on those coming into Taiwan from foreign countries can delay their trips.
He said the existing medical resources have been deployed to police stations, medical institutions and other institutions at the front line.
He said the number of masks and the production volumes are still very sufficient in #Taiwan. He said the central government has given out 1 million N95 masks and protective gears to local governments.
The total number of patients placed at centralized quarantine venues are more than 600, most of them are from New Taipei City and Taipei City.
The government said the number of centralized quarantine venues are still sufficient and the government will continue to increase the number of these venues.
Chen said the process of sending positive patients to these venues has become much faster and smoother. These venues all have medical staff on site.
Chen said when the whole #Taiwan is under level three alert, the whole country needs to be coordinated and be united. They also need to tell citizens what the real situation and regulations are, in order to prevent chaos.
When CECC has been activated, local governments need to follow the instructions and criteria for local governments to execute. If local governments face some difficulties, they need to reflect them at the daily conference in the morning.
He said there are some key industries that need to have some protocols to deal with unexpected situations, including when some employees in these industries have been tested positive.
Chen is asking the citizens to stay home during the coming weekend and don't leave the house. He said they should all reduce the amount of time to gather together and reduce the flow of people to minimal.
He hopes to cut off all the existing infection chains and hopes this can help to get the situation under control.
Chen said as more hospitals have internal infection, it is increasing the burden on hospitals and the medical industry, as they need to both take care of patients, getting tested and they also need to reduce the risk of being infected.
He also warned that there are still stores that are secretly operating and he is calling on the police and interior ministry to strictly enforcing relevant regulations. He said these intimate connection could trigger more infection, so he calls on the ...
... police and local government to carry out punishment striclty. He is also warning those who are intentionally not wearing masks and still try to disturb social orders, he called on the police and the public to report anyone who fails to comply with these rules and ...
... strictly punish these individuals.
Chen said the country is still under level three alert and there are no plans to raise it to level four alert yet. He said apart from the daily numbers, another important criteria is that the number of those without unidentified cases need to be more than 50%, so he said ...
... there are no plan to raise to level four anytime soon.
He said the meeting with US Health Minister promised to keep supporting #Taiwan's participation in the WHO. He said he also raised the MOU that they have signed with the US.
He said he also told the US about the urgent need for #COVID19 vaccines and he hopes the US can provide enough vaccines and he will report the needs to Biden and he said they will consider Taiwan's needs when they are rationing the number of vaccines that each country can get.
Heping hospital has more internal cases and three new cases all have connection to Wanhua district, the epicenter of this outbreak in Taipei.
Officials said there are usually three days' waiting time for those who get tested for PCR tests. They need to ensure that they don't take public transportation during the three-day period because one person broke the rule and took the TRA train on May 20. He changed his seats...
... and was later confirmed to have been infected. Now anyone who has sit in the two train cars need to be quarantined.
Chen said the #Taiwan-made vaccines are not part of the government's plan to help enhance the values of these companies' stock price.
Chen claimed that Taiwanese people have a lot of expectation for the #Taiwan-made vaccines but he fails to respond to what if Taiwanese people who are vaccinated with these Taiwan-made vaccines were not accepted as an internationally-recognized vaccine ...
... because these vaccines could face the risk of not being recognized internationally due to the lack of trials. So far, both #Taiwan-made vaccines are still in stage two of human trial and it is expected to be released for emergency use at the end of July.
15232 people got vaccinated in #Taiwan. So far, 281647 people have been vaccinated in #Taiwan.
The government identified more than 500 cases of disinformation campaign related to #COVID19 related information and they warned that there are still attempts to keep spreading those that have been clarified by the government on social media.
Chen said these are behaviors that are disturbing social orders amid the outbreak and they warned that if these people continue to spread these disinformation, they will be willing to punish them.
Chen said there is a difference between unintentionally taken off the mask and intentionally taken off the mask. He is calling on all smokers to avoid taking off their masks and smoke in public.
Chen said next week will be a key period to observe whether #Taiwan's prevention mechanisms have become effective and he once again calls on citizens to refrain from leaving their house and going outside in order for the government to be able to get everything under control.
Chen said high-risk individuals have the responsibilities to get vaccinated but he didn't specify whether the government will force these individuals to get vaccinated or not.
Chen said right now, #Taipei and New Taipei city are still at the stage of clearing out all the #COVID19 cases lurking in the community and after most cases are identified, it is worth to be seen if all the infection chains have been cut off or not.
Chen is calling on people to delay their second dose of #COVID19 vaccine, as the situation in #Taiwan is still relatively chaotic. He said if you wait until week 12 to get the second dosage wouldn't lower the overall immunity.
