People need to be reminded that Putin CHOSE the path of confrontation and of aggression. Putin CHOSE to shatter peace. He CHOSE to sow chaos. He CHOSE to rule a mafia state as an authoritarian. He CHOSE this path totally unprovoked.
After the collapse of the USSR, the West rolled out the red carpet to Moscow. There was no Nuremberg equivalent for Moscow’s multiple genocides. Russia was included in intl orgs which it had no business being in as it hadn’t met the requirements. And western money showered RU.
Putin had NO legitimate cause whatsoever to CHOOSE the path of aggression and confrontation. He chose it because he wanted absolute power, money, control, and status on the world stage. To date, we can see Russia doesn’t have the patience - or ambition - to evolve to that point.
Instead, Russians rejoiced over the “former” KGB officer “bringing Russia up from its knees”, as though it were some oppressed nation where people were victimized by the “evil West”. Rather than striving to build, Russia worked to destroy, and celebrated destruction.
Virtually the entire Western world deliberately and continuously ignores the ugly truth about Russia and its revanchism. Moscow is treated as an equal rather than as a rogue terrorist regime whose real friends are other genocidal authoritarians.
Russia’s victims are punished and further oppressed and repressed every single time the West ignores who and what Putin and Russia are. They reward evil, and help obliterate any semblance of stability, peace, or good governance in the world. It’s tragic.
